Why were the jews hated so much?

i was watching a movie last night "the true story of anne frank"............her family were jews and they hid from the germans for a while till someone dobbed them in....they went to concentration camps, treated like s**t etc etc;.
jews were treated like cattle...like nothing...its terrible.... why?

I WANT REVENGE!!!!!
by worldlygirl inwell, it has finally happened.
my jw husband came home last week and told me he is moving out.
it seems he has been talking to the elders, and they feel his spirituality is being threatened (even though i have not insisted he stop going to meetings, i won't allow any jw material in my home because of my children from a previous marriage - i don't want them exposed to it.

if the bills are just in his name, then YOU dont have to pay them do you? because they havent got your name on them. if they are in both your names, thats different.....

Just be yourself....how do you do that when you don't even know who you are sometimes???? I WAS a JW.....now what am I? The dubs defined my life for so long I wonder sometimes if I will ever really find my true self.....

As a YOUNG loyal JW, did you think you would see you're 60th birthday ?
by run dont walk inwith all the talk in the organization about the end being so close, and we have all heard this story over and over again for years, as a young/loyal jw, did you think you would see your 60th birthday.. if we were to walk into the kingdom hall today and poll all the jw's under 30, and ask them "will you see your 60th birthday", what kind of response would you get ???.
armageddon is not coming, the year 2014 will pass, as will 2025, 2075, 2100, and even 3000. .
would love to hear experiences from some of the older ones on this board, who probaly thought the same thing when they were young.

Do Circuit Overseers Give Up Their Lives For Jehovah?
by minimus ini've heard for years how we should really appreciate the circuit overseers and their wives for all that they give up to enter the circuit work... do you think that's true?

well, i can remember that when the elders knew the circuit overseer was coming, they use to ask who wanted to work with them in field service and put peoples names down for whatever time they wanted to work with them in the field service and also they use to ask who wanted to have them around for meals, like lunch and dinner but mainly dinner i think and i know that people use to give them money and other little gifts. and i am sure there were donations given to the circuit overseer as well to cover other expenses
there were some that were very nice and there are definitely some that use to think they were just it.

Disfellowshipping - How long to return?
by CaptK indoes anybody know how long it takes for one to get re-instated if you are not that well liked by the body of elders?
i was disfellowshiped for immorality almost 2 years ago.
with my job and attending college to keep in step with my field of work, i have only been attending the sunday talk & wt meeting every week.

well, over here in australia, i know someone that was disfellowshipped - i think it was for the same thing - and he was disfellowshipped for about the same time or a bit longer. it depended on whether the elders liked him or not as to when they reinstated him, even though it should have gone by his repentance...they wanted to make an example of him and thats what they did...he had to put in about 3 letters in total i think asking to be reinstated
