  Can J.W's Be Involved in Politics, Or Can't They?

  i was always under the impression that jw's couldn't participate in politics because that would mean that they were a part of the world.

  yet, i found an interesting article today suggesting that some are involved.

  this randy bloke (i mean his name randy not that hes randy ..as in ...well.. you know ;)) says the wts is taking money from bush .

  I believe its the audio where a guy phoned the Watchtower to make a donation. He asked the Watchtower representative about making a donation to the Watchtower's political, military, and governments programs.

  Then the Watchtower rep says, quote: "Oh, you mean you want to make a contribution to our holocaust fund."

  The Watchtower rep, by making that statement, implicated the Watchtower as having a (front) for such programs as political, military, and govermental, and a comment on the tape indicated that the donation was also going for (Bush) agendas.

  I think thats the audio that your talking about. I haven't heard it in a while though. The last time I heard it, it was a bit scratchy to me.

  Now there is a true statement if I ever heard one! Thousands of us who have been mistreated by the Witchtower, agree with you whole-heartedly!

  Avoid being Involved?

  Some of the correspondence indicates that brothers have already signed contracts and given their word that they will be farming certain land and producing tobacco. Some may have already rented their land to someone for the next year or longer. Whether these brothers will be able to cancel or relieve themselves of such contracts in some way is not known, but it will be commendable for them to seek ways to avoid being involved in growing any more tobacco.

  Well said and very well documented in the Watchtower literature also. Very good comment, because no doubt (all) of us at one time or another had to do the very same thing.

  My mother tried to (burn) all of Rutherford's books, because we were counseled that they were domonic, yet when certain references were needed, we were to told that we coulf find that certain reference in Rutherford's books.

  The very books that we were told to get rid of, are still being advertised in Watchtower literature today!

  Closely examine the (Proclaimers Book) 1993, and anyone can see that Charles Russell and Rutherford are glorified throughout the entire book. Yet, the members were not to read such materials. So again, they prove themselves as hypocrites. Russells books were sold by the Watchtower Society several years (after) they were classified as apostate!

  Again I state, where is your (Watchtower) documentation? The request was for (Watchtower) documentation or statements, in black and white proving that they are not or never have taken any money from Phillip Morris!

  Now what part of that don't you understand?

  Please scan the (Watchtower) letter as soon as you get it!

  I know exactly what you mean Taylor. I can't tell you how many times I have see Jehovah's Witness (some I knew), standing in a movie line so eager to see (restricted) movies, and then turn right around and get in their cars to go out in service to (preach) to others about how (they) should become a Christian!
