I've had the album for quite a while now. There's a couple of good songs on it, but it's definately not his best.
Ozzmosis, No More Tears, and The Ultimate Sin are my favorites from his solo efforts.

I guess not every satellite makes it to the Graveyard orbit. Maybe it'll hit Anik E2 on it's way down and we'll all lose our cable TV stations again :)

- "Jehovah’s Witnesses do not offer entertainment at their meetings"
That's for sure!
And there's that word "Edenic". What a stupid word. I prefer making up my own words. "Jehovah's Witnesses look forward to living in a Booberiffic Paradise" -

ten pounds in ten weeks, weeks three and four
by Hortensia inhere's the new thread - we can update this thread for a couple of weeks, then i'll start another one.
it's so nice to hear what other folks are doing, and the folks who aren't dieting or exercising as a part of this group, your input is very helpful.
i appreciate kensei and mincan for instance for their advice.

Hey, a diet thread, cool!
I just got myself on one starting last week. I've lost 5 lbs already.
One suggestion I should give you all is that you should weigh yourself the same time every day to get an accurate idea of your progress. I weigh myself every morning after my shower and after I get dressed, all before breakfast. If you want an even more accurate measurement, get calipers to measure body fat.
I'm also not on any marketed diet plan (Atkins, WW, etc). If you need a name, I'm on "Diesel's Guide to Weight Loss." It's barely a one page post written on an internet forum I frequent, and it works (this is the second time I'm using it).
After the boy was born, I stopped my exercise and started eating really crappy. I gained more weight than what I had before. My goal is to lose between 30-35 lbs. The final straw was when my jeans were starting to really dig into my gut. I either had to buy bigger jeans, or drop the weight. I chose the hard way out :)
Also, you shouldn't be dieting longer than 12 weeks without a break. Longer is bad for your body. -

A couple years ago, I saw my very first owl. It was sitting in our tree.
Last year, a deer walked across our lawn. I couldn't believe it! Neither could my wife until we went outside and saw it walking down the street.
Last year, I also had a groundhog make his home under my shed. Needless to say, I put an end to that :)
What about you? -

Will There Be a New Category of Bad Songs Soon?
by WTWizard ini have already seen one thread on the april kool-aid, and it is not pretty.
they are now starting to crack down on "valueless things", including excess (that is, what is not inherent in the misery or necessary for life itself) fun, sleep, or any sex or money.
they put that in the same category with apostate material and independent bible study (which, interestingly, has helped quite a few people).

Well, I think we're now down to the following "approved" performers / bands:
Zamfir
Kenny G
Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet
Floyd Cramer
and Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music album. -

Wow, they're really starting to tighten the grip on the flock. The next couple of years are going to be interesting to see how they're going to use their new direct member-only Watchtower magazine. When they discover that they can write anything they want and have members just sit there and say "we understand, we understand" the more likely they're going to get careless with what they write.
Also, I'm betting that there's going to be a whole pile of new light coming out. They don't think they have to worry about the public seeing anything, so they can make all the predictions they want. JWs will just sit there and say "we understand, we understand."
New light, full speed ahead!
- "There is another article in it that subtly encourages couples to stay childless with scare tactics about how tragic it could be for them if they leave the 'truth'!"
It really makes no sense for them to discourage people from having kids. That's where most of their new membership comes from. They're just shooting themselves in the foot with that one.
But then again, they don't bother teaching birth control to JWs, so JWs don't really have a choice in the matter when they get married. Natural sexual desire will always trump the Watchtower in this case. -
