I know Armageddon is here because even Jehovah would want to destroy some of those obnoxious smileys in your first post.

Not sure if I should post the playlist for my garage computer. It's over 2700 songs, but they're ALL songs I enjoy. I usually put it on when I'm having people over, doing yardwork, etc. If I do post it, you might find stuff you'll want to download :)
My goal for this playlist is to not have it repeat the same song, even if it's a cover version. This playlist can play for one week straight (24h/day). I have one or two repeats in there (which is pretty good considering) and I'll be refining it. I had to start adding external drives to the garage PC. Each DVD contains approx 700 songs.
But I don't want to hog up the thread... unless you really want me to post it ;) -

- "They even marked where the Garden of Eden was, though with a
question mark."
Wasn't that in the black 1984 bible as well? I seem to remember that one quite well. I also can't help but wonder how they figured out where the Garden of Eden was. -

The year the end finally came: the YEAR OF THE BIG LIE
by Terry inyou have to understand three things to comprehend the significance of 1975.. 1975 was the end of the watchtower society as we who lived in the 50's and 60's once knew it.
it would forever change because it was exposed for all the world to see as a group of liars and deceived dupes.. it all began with a baptist farmer named william miller who sat down with only his bible and a concordance and a crackpot idea that a .
a "day for a year" and the gentile times meant something profound which would effect his own day and time.

- "The problem as I see it is whether anybody from my era (I was 26 in 1975, had been JW for about 12 years or so) - has actually kept good enough notes or has a perfect memory of all the events."
I don't think that's absolutely necessary. There's enough experiences out on the net, there's that talk on Randy's site, I'm sure that some sort of story could be compiled from all those. It doesn't have to be based on one person's experience from that time, but perhaps what one person could have experienced at that time using fictional characters. Combine multiple experiences into a few characters, and you've got a great read. As long as it communicates the overall feeling of the urgency to the reader, I think that's all that really counts. -

Hey, I had 13 shit years in the org and I still enjoyed this thread! It just goes to show that the org isn't as god-inspired as it was claimed to be. BTW, I LOVE the fact that My Book of Bible Stories was the most hazardous to the environment. There is no more fitting book to be the most hazardous :)

Someone should really write a book about the whole 1975 experience. Talk about the excitement going on, what the people around them are doing to prepare for the end, the experiences in the KM of people selling their houses, and the talks given about 1975. I think it would be a really great read for those of us who never got to experience this major letdown. Oh yeah, and the aftermath - the disappointment, the struggling - kinda like after a huge war.

Do You Still Believe In Anything JWs Taught You?
by minimus inare there any beliefs that you learned from the witnesses that you still believe in?
-
Nosferatu
Of course I do. I still believe "All Scripture is inspired of god and beneficial for all the inhabited erf, for a witness to all nations, and then this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." Something like that.
