AudeSapere, I agree wholeheartedly with what you just said. However, I think you'll find what I'm going to do actually quite tasteful and non-adolescent.

- "dump the enormous chunk of hardened, packed snow/ice right behind your old boss' car "
Oh, you mean his BMW. There isn't any snow here yet :(
But what I've got planned is still better than revenge that only last a day or so. What I've planned may last years :D
Oh yeah, and I told my new boss about all that AFTER I signed the paper that states I'm starting on the 27th. I told him I don't want to stay that extra week, so he knows. -

- "Nosferatu..Do not screw up your new job!"
Don't worry, I won't. I decided that I'm not staying her one minute past my two weeks. I didn't ask my new boss for an extra week. I just informed him that my old boss wanted an extra week and I really don't want to do that. He said, "Well, you're all signed up now..." In other words, it's too late :)
I have one more week here. I'll be sending a response to that email tomorrow. I'm just dragging things along, just like they always drag around here. The more time that passes, the less likely I can request another week :)
After I get my response tomorrow, I'll tell you what I'm going to be doing before I leave. I'm going out with a very subtle bang :D -

I think I've decided what I'm going to do.....
Nothing. No response to that disgusting email. I've told him that I couldn't make it work. He needs to accept that. I don't need to go back to my new employer. The decision is made, I've filled out the paperwork, signed my name, and paperwork is being process for me to start on the 27th. (Yes, I technically only have one more week).
When I gave my noticed, I even offered to come in on the occasional weekend. He doesn't seem to be happy with that offer. If he doesn't want to work with me, then fvvv him.
The only mistake I made was letting him know what my new boss's first name is. However, it's a big company and chances are there's more than one Ron there. But I printed out that email to cover my ass in case anything should happen, and this is precisely why I sent him an email instead of talking to him in person. I believe it's illegal in Canada for him to terminate me for quitting.
I'll wait for him to get back to me first, looking for an answer. I'll just have to re-affirm that my last day is on the 24th. If I'm gonna shit in his corn flakes, I might as well do it for every last day that I'm here. He shit in mine one too many times with the garbage jobs: picking up garbage in the yard, shovelling snow, cleaning graffiti, etc etc. Oh yeah, and the late (and crappy) raises didn't make me feel all that important here.
Thank god my new workplace has a union. -

It's for a different company.
I was thinking something along the lines of "this repeated asking will not reflect well with my new employer.
I think I'll be digging out the contract I signed with my current company. -

As many of you know, I've got a new job. Quitting my old one is proving to be difficult. I gave my boss two weeks notice. He requested me staying an extra week. I told him I'd talk to my new boss.
Nevertheless, I just want out. I told my new boss about this and he said, "Well, you're all signed up, so there's no turning back now!"
This morning, I sent the following to my boss:
- "I chatted with Ron about delaying my employment for a week. He told me that it would be difficult to alter everything (paperwork etc) on such short notice. Sorry I couldn't get this to work out."
And I got the following response:
- "Nos, I need you to go back and speak with Ron again. I understand the trials and tribulations associated with paperwork but, we really need that extra week to address the succession of your position. After ten [10] years, I don’t think this is too much to ask. We would never have terminated your employment with LV with only a 2-week notice period.
If it would be easier for you, I can contact Ron directly to discuss the extra week. Please let me know how you would like us to proceed."
I hate this place and I just want out. Maybe tell him I got the extra week and don't show up? I dunno. HELP! -

Update: I got a new job!
by Nosferatu inin my last post, i mentioned how i basically had a foot in the door for an hvac job with pretty good benefits although it was for $2 less per hour.
today, i got a call back from a job i interviewed for about two months ago.
the job is for $2 more per hour than what i'm making, company vehicle, 3 weeks vacation on start, a blackberry, and it's somewhat related to the electronics field... i'll be fixing electric wheelchairs :) .

Yeah, I have an 8-track player at work. Kind of a novelty thing and people get a kick out of it, and how good it actually sounds. I probably won't be able to mount one in the company vehicle I'm getting :(

Holy crap... I've started cleaning out the hard drive on my PC and deleting emails. You know how much digital shit you accumulate after 10 years? LOTS. Some of this stuff is hard to delete. Stuff I kept for a reason and stuff that I'd need to defend my ass if something goes wrong, but it's all irrelevant now.
And then there's the physical shit. I have all my music backups sitting here. I might have to invest in a safety deposit box. And my computer speakers, my 8-track player, and some personal paperwork. All going home or into the shredder pile.
