i thought it was so great to see how children think about things, if they aren't "brainwashed" from infancy.so a few weeks ago my four year old daughter was asking questions about jesus and decided she wanted to see a picture of him.
Personally, I think we are nearest to perfection at birth than at any other time in our present human condition. I think if our kids can't figure it out then we probably shouldn't even try ourselves. Thinking too hard usually causes more harm than good.

Am I to understand that you are suggesting that the whole Jesus' sacrifice and Judas being the traitor but the entire thing being predicted already and therefore it just means that it was a good story for people that don't analyze it enough to realize that it basically nullifies Jesus' TREMENDOUS sacrifce?

i don't know if this subject has been touched on before - i didn't know what section to put it under.. i have to go to the meeting this sunday - basically emotional blackmail by my husband (long story).
i have suffered from panic attacks in the past.
when i don't go to the meetings, and my family do, i get very panicky and breathless.

I certainly feel for you. I have suffered from the same thing. I agree with Francois that deep breathing will help a lot. Also, I have found reminding myself of a profound and encouraging saying helps. You can write it down and keep it with you if it is too difficult to remember.
The one that works the best for me is: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference". I have repeated that one to myself out loud over and over and it works!!! Unfortunately your husband doesn't seem to have empathy right now. It is probably just denial on his part, so you may have to find your strentgh WITHIN yourself. It is definitely there. You need to have faith in yourself.

this past week, on fox, there was another documentary about mj.
after seeing some advertisements about the presentation that indicated that mjs mother would be on the program, i was interested in seeing what comments, if any, she would make about mj.
I agree with Mary on 'the mothers standing by and doing nothing while the kids get beat' being a despicable thing.
Also, in regards to MJ's mother sharing in the Birthday stuff for example, JW's are always A LOT more "patient" with anyone close to celebrity status. I read a thing on the Williams sisters awhile back and one of them said that they were definitely dubs but they "of course can't go out door to door like the others" because of being too busy.
NOT GETTING IN ENOUGH HOURS AND ADMITTING IT, WITH NO SHAME???????

reading jst2laws account of his and joy's execrable treatment by his one-time friends, has really brought it home to me that the disfellowshippers need their knuckles rapped - and hard, too.. when someone becomes disillusioned with their religion, they are in a very vulnerable and emotional state for quite a while.
for that same religion then to, not only cast them out, but insist that their friends and families should do the same, is criminal to say the least.. yet, what accountability do these disfellowshippers have to face?
i'll tell you - absolutely none!

I also personally think that they (elders on these commitees) already suffer by their own lack of a loving relationship with their higher power and that their dues will come long term, BUT....
I've never really been a very patient person and it would not do any harm for them to realize salvation quicker either.
Plus, the support for the person being df'd is a good enough reason all by itself.
i have been reading the book, "the power of positive thinking" by norman vincent peale.
he is/was a christian minister, but his thoughts on god are somewhat different than what i thought a minister's thoughts would be.
in the second last chapter he expresses an interesting viewpoint.

I don't think you are asking too much? It is difficult for us to open our eyes after being in a mind-control group. Nothing is absolute in this human existence, and neither is the quote that I made from "The Power of Positive Thinking" or the one stating the blinking of the eye.
I think the biggest thing that I have learned since leaving is that we will never know it all, so the harder we try to convince ourselves that we do (like the dubs do) the further we are from true peace. It causes an inner turmoil that I can only explain is very evident from my experience IN and OUT of the Borg.
When I look at how beautiful and amazing the universe is, and even what science has proven, it makes more sense to me to that we are eternal creatures; a never ending energy.

Also, wednesday, your judgement may be a little harsh on that one. I am not suggesting that Saddam is a perfect guy and Bush is an idiot.... (well, actually I do think Bush is an idiot... but that's another topic altogether .. ) but I find it to be a little naive to believe that there are not alterior motives.
I would suggest that Saddam probably feels that the U.S. should stay out of his business. Iraq is still a little peeved that the U.S. and Saudi companies were slant drilling and taking a lot of their oil that way. Has the U.S. ever apologized for that or even admitted it?
It amazes me that Americans feel that they are completely righteous, with no alterior motives. I have come to realize that that isn't HUMANLY possible.
