  There's often a dissociative effect that takes place. The trauma shocks the psyche so immensely causing an aspect of the person to dissociate from the body in order to survive the abuse as it's happening. In that moment, there is no moving as much as one would like to run.

  WTS is utterly ignorant and full of it.

  Movies/Books for Cult Survivors

  for me, there have always been special movies or scenes in movies that trigger my old jw experience (fiddler on the roof and little mermaid touched me deeply when i watched them as a young jw).

  later as a survivor, it was more donnie darko, thx 1138 themes that struck me in particular.. anyway, looking for suggestions on great movies, books (art of any kind, really) that especially speak to or move you as a jw survivor?

  there are reasons beyond purely entertainment that i ask..

  jw sisters are forbidden to read any elder book any or anything for elder eyes only yet ms appleseed who is considerd an wt expert is a practicing catholic part of babylon the great can read all this info in fact they give it to her.

  And she has letters,documents ,manuals etc. from the WTB&TS that are for Elders eyes only , whereby no women in good standing in the religion of Jehovah`s Witnesses are permitted to see.
  

  Am I missing something here ? A religion that claims to be the only true religion employs a person from the principled false religion to defend them in a Royal Commission here in Australia. ?

  Smiddy, this is yet another added component in that the higher ups, do not believe the very nonsense they force down the throats of it's members. If it was flipped, and "Dr" Applewhite was representing "worldly" people against the WTS, you know what WT would tell it's cult victim members about her. Yet, they choose to play around with "worldly" members of society that they are technically highly against, whenever they please if it benefits them.

  Why isn't "Jehovah" sending them JW's to represent them every single time? If she's part of "Satan's" system, she must be lying in every thing she says about being an expert witness to the WTS, right?! The higher ups are full of it.

  pray for brother jackson of the governing body!.

  in todays news from australia it appears that, despite his previous declination to appear when invited, justice mcclellan from the australian royal commission on child sex abuse will officially summon brother geoffrey jackson to the stand after all.. ..... the commission was due to conclude its hearings into the jehovahs witnesses on wednesday but justice mcclellan said he will now call geoffrey jackson, a senior member of the churchs governing body in new york who is currently in australia, to appear next week.. .

  all jws on the stand have stuck to the same line that they have no problem with cooperating with mandatory reporting when state law requires it.. if the law does not require it then bible principles absolutely prevent them from taking away rights of the victim to report abuse to the police or not.. we have already heard from a jw rep a couple of days ago who proudly asserted that when the law conflicts with bible principle they will always obey the bible and quoted acts 5:29 "we must obey god rather than men".. please join the dots!.

  They had someone call me back from the Royal Commission yesterday and relay what happened to my former partner as a child. It was confidential - I don't care or fear the cult, but for his sake I'm glad. I expressed to them that the way the elder was going around in circles in how they handled it with the victim was a lie, that the WTS does handle abuse cases that way as they did exactly that with my partner. I also explained "Theocratic Warfare" yet I'm sure you explained it in more details.

  the rothschild family will not allow the aussies to take any significant action against their religious wing (mormons, jws, adventists, etc.).

  the worst outcome for the borg will be a relatively small fine and a deadline to change their rules.

  DJS, I get your perspective as well, however playing the devils advocate here, the government is capable of playing "theocratic warfare" as well!

  And if there are JW lurkers here, no, this doesn't apply to your cult being "God's chosen" and the outside world all being evil. The evidence presented in the Australian Royal Commission for instance, is being questioned based on your own cult's written documents.

  And yes, username, I fully agree.

  Yes it was difficult but most of us achieved it by comparing what the scary apostates had to say with the evidence. In most cases the apostates were vindicated.
  Test what conspiracy theorists claim with evidence. What usually happens?

  nicolauo, I appreciate what you're saying. What I'm saying is, what's presented isn't always the case. What was considered "conspiracy theories" at one point, have been brought to light and are now considered "facts". I now keep an open mind. I don't place my trust in every single CT that's presented, and I certainly don't place my trust in every single aspect of what the government presents.

  The WT has the ability to control their mind controlled members by taking information out of context and stoning people with name calling on the outside so their followers won't be open to this information. Our government has the ability to do that in a much larger and powerful scale.

  I personally do believe the WTS is linked in with the powers that be somehow, and the reason they get away with so much is tied to this. Anyone here who drops name calling just because they disagree is doing the same thing the cult members do to outside members.

  And DJS, as far as "feeling special" with having "accurate knowledge", this is a projection of the WT culture. Not everyone who disagrees with you in the outside world feels this way.
