by Enigma One insix months after becoming the largest christian denomination to endorse same-sex marriage, the united church of christ (ucc) reported that less than 1 percent of its churches have separated from the denomination.
the ucc report, issued thursday, noted that 49 churches -- out of 5,725 churches total -- have voted to disaffiliate, and nearly all of those cited disagreement with the ucc marriage equality resolution, adopted in early july.

I didn't say that I don't expect my opinions challenged..in fact in my very first post I acknowledged that I would not hold a popular opinion. I do no choose to debate my opinion. I dont choose to do this because it is an increadible waste of time in most cases. I am an active particpating member of my faith and I respect those who have disenting view and don't choose to fight with them about issues that we each feel strongly about and are unlikely...possible but unlikely to change.I offered my a comment...if that is how I choose to make use of this forum and I am satisfied with that..then that IS how it works...for me.
You will notice that I am not debating the topic of the thread here...something that I said I would not do...I am responding to comments concerning the definition of meaningful discussion and how I should and shouldn't use the forum which is actually up to me as long as I don't break the rules.
