(baylor university, waco, tx) an essay entitled, "jehovah's witnesses, blood transfusions, and the tort of misrepresentation," found in the autumn issue of baylor universitys prestigious journal of church and state, published december 13, 2005, exposes the vulnerability of jehovahs witnesses religious organization to massive claims for compensation because of the religions misrepresentation of the medical risks of blood transfusions.
this milestone essay critically examines one of the religions main publications for teaching their children and new recruits about their blood beliefs, how can blood save your life?
the peer-reviewed essay details many misrepresentations of medical facts, which the religion partly relies on to support its blood prohibition, thus denying its members from making fully informed medical decisions.

the blood information has now been dissected and shown for what it is.. .
the custody brochure encourages members to commit perjury, which is unconstitutional and unlawful.
this is another weak point.
If you have secured a copy of the custody brochure is there a way you could scan it and make it available electronically ?

As some of you know, my mother is a dialysis patient and recently had a GI bleed that dropped her hemoglobin count to around 4 (very low). The doctors called me to the hospital to talk to her...but she made it clear there was no changing her mind and the HLC was standing by with his folder of paperwork to prevent them from taking action to save her.
She is still hangin in...doctors say time will tell as her counts are rising only slightly and very very slowly. If she can just hang on long enough she may survive long enough to get her counts back up...time will tell.
I called her tonight...and will be calling the HLC member on her case tomorrow to put her and them on notice that if something happens to her because she refused a transfusion based on the teachings and indoctrination of the jw's....I will be filing a lawsuit. I will also be calling the Hospital (of which I sit on their Board of Overseers) and passing on this new info to their Risk Management office as well as the Shared Decision Making Office who work with all patients on potentially critical issues and decisions.
She was not impressed and feels that I am disrespecting her beliefs. Duh...I don't respect her beliefs but acknowledge that until the worst occurs there is little that I can do about it.
Obviously I hope I never have to think about a lawsuit...I'd rather have her here. Thank you Barbara so very much !
all who would like barbara to know that we are very appreciative of what she is doing and realize that the delays
must be more difficult for her than anyone else, please raise your hands.
those who disagree with these sentiments, please have the good manners to stay out of this thread.
Just read the news.....thanks so much Barbara !

Thanks Barbara and all those involved.
if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!

the News is bigger than a Honda,
it's bigger than a Subaru
Hey man there’s only fractions, and one issue that will do
Anyway we don’t have to spill it honey, we can store it up for later use
And have a party 'bout your big News, Big News, Big News.....
HMMMMMMMMMM..........

I will do my best to be an activist, no matter what the Big News is and whatever form it arrives in....but I too must agree with undercover...another book is likely to be the least helpful...
If this "big news" is released in book form, it doesn't matter if a JW, former JW, non-JW or a 2nd cousin twice removed from a JW wrote it, it will not make an impact upon most current JWs. ; They are too indoctrinated to avoid any and all negative information regarding the WTS, whether it comes from former JWs or outsiders of the JW community. ; In their view, if an ex-JW wrote it (or promoted it) then it's just sour grapes and hatred. ; If a non-JW wrote, then it's clear that they just don't get it because they don't have Jehovah's spirit and have misunderstood the whole premise of the religion.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think another tell-all book is going to make much of an impact.

I have a friend at ABC Nightly news...I certainly can't promise cooperation but I will do all that I can.

in our local sunday paper, there's a regular feature on how married couples met.
i've been touched by some of the stories.
i'm curious as to how you met your spouse.
A coworker of mine....her then fiance...introduced us.....she left him for me....he maxed out all three of her credit cards and joined the military....so she ended up costing me $15,000 !
It is now 15 years later...he ended up marrying a girl that looks almost exactly like her...even had the same wedding dress design...sort of spooky really LOL
