  +++ VIGIL - TUESDAY 11TH DECEMBER +++

  please join in sending your prayers, good thoughts, reiki, healing vibes, lighting a candle or just taking a moment to think of all those named and unnamed who are fighting cancer or in any other need.

  also their loved ones and caregivers.. - has been fighting mantle cell lymphoma for three years.

  he received an allogeneic cell transplant and his latest blood and bone marrow results have shown no trace of cancer!!

  Thank you to ((((((((((((((EVERYONE))))))))))))) who took part in last night's vigil. I seemed to sleep well (must have been your healing energies).

  Well, the days are flying by and the nights and mornings are dark. Sadly, sickness robs us of enjoying much that winter has to offer so I hope each and every one of us has been invigorated this morning.

  Self Deceit and Faith.

  this thread is inspired by a comment made on another thread, but i thought it would make an interesting discussion.. self deceit is described as a "misconception that is favorable to the person who holds it".

  my premise is that faith is a form of self-deceit - lying to oneself.. so, i would ask of the "faithful" the following questions and would request that they be read carefully to ensure no that there is no misunderstanding of purpose.. 1) in what way is faith not self-deception?.

  2) is a person who has faith in a god that you do not believe in, say for example siva, practicing a form of self-deception?.

  I'm liking you more and more

  I would give anything for the proof of God to be realised - but it hasn't been and is unlikely ever to be. One cannot prove the unprovable but, as Dawkins said, we can be 99% sure God doesn't exist.

  It is my belief that people believe in God (have faith to keep the thread on track) primarily because they "feel/think/are fearful" regarding him lest something evil should befall them. It is difficult to accept that death is the end.

  Is death the end? I don't believe so - but I don't believe I need God, either. We work out our own salvation and every action causes a reaction. I believe in Karma. Is it because I'm afraid of being annihilated? Well, having been so close to death and actually asking for death to take me, I don't believe I am. One thing's for sure, I'll find out when I die................................................or will I?

  Hello Chappy,

  Human arrogance refuses to accept two facts...1.Something has always existed. 2. There is an inherent intelligence greater than us behind the creation of the physical univerwse. Eveything else is subject to conjecture and speculation.

  I would be delighted if you could prove both 1) and 2) with empirical evidence. Believe me, I'm not trying to be an arrogant smart arse. I'd genuinely love to see your proof. Remember, faith and comments like "Just look at the beauty of the earth", and similar, are not proof. I've been searching virtually all my life and I favour evolution because science has provided the evidence that it is still happening today. In all sincerity, Ian

  my sister-in-law is recently divorced and went to a witness online dating site.

  she mentioned that many of the witnesses specified that they wanted a white or latino only.

  of course there is nothing wrong with this (personal preference), but i found it interesting.

  Definitely not! My wife would go nuts!!

  Seriously, it's a no brainer. If I were single and a female had what I desired in a woman colour wouldn't even come into the equation. In fact, I had a terrific friend for years and never even noticed he was black. He was just 'Sam', my best mate at the time.

  All I can say is that it's a good job Mrs Jones and I are both married or I'd be over to her place in a shot!

  every now and again i get a lil bee in my bonnet and i have to just blurt out stuff - so this one is on love....so many types of love out there today.

  one can find it under any rock, in any nook...that is if you dont care what type of love you want, or the type of love you'll be giving.

  if you are looking for it, aim to never settle for nothing but the best, not for left overs or scraps.
