Inactive ones are not JWs
by gone for good inyears ago, the insinuation was often presented, that those who were inactive were actually not witnesses at all.
the point being made was that ''...winesses is a verb, not a noun...''.
i know there were published assertions to this end in the older books and magazines, with possibly even quotes from the likes of rutherford or knorr ,.

I've had a few elders say from the platform "You can't really call yourself one of Jehovah's Witnesses if you aren't witnessing." -

For all still in.... fakers. Help.
by Sofia Lose inam i alone in this feeling?
i wish i could muster the cojones needed to tell my husband "i want a divorce, move away, not be a jw anymore!".
i find myself screaming these same words over and loud inside my mind, several times a day, and yet on the outside my actions could not be more opposed to these inner feelings.. sometimes i worry that this internal conflict will cause me to go crazy.

Sofia,
One more here to chime in that you're not alone. Ever since I've learned TTATT, I've had this constant fear that my wife will realize that I'm not going to turn back to the indoctrinated person I was. I'm not going to wake up and realize that I was wrong the JWs were right. I'm afraid that from this realization she'll want a divorce, not wanting to waste time building a relationship that she feels would have no lasting value. I'm still working on my fade. I discuss a few points here and there with a local elder. I'm slowly coming to the point that no matter what the outcome, I will be okay. I might not think so in the moment, but I will be okay.
One thing that has helped me is looking at the similarities between us and ex-mormons (since they are so close in their methods, etc to us). This comparison has showed me that not only are we not alone amongst ex-JWs, but we're also not alone among those of other faiths. They go through the same struggles, emotions, and thoughts as we do. If you get a moment, watch through some of the IAmAnExMormon videos. You can YouTube or Google for them. One of my favorites deals with marriage and the struggles of opposing faiths... Our-Marriage-Has-Survived-A-Crisis-of-Faith.
I still suffer from deep depression because of the stress a fade creates. I cherish each day with my wife and friends, because I know each one could be the last. I'm working on my "live like you were dying" mentality, not from the standpoint of eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we shall die, but from the standpoint that my entire state of affairs is so fragile, that each day could be the last with someone I love. I don't want to have regrets wishing that I treated someone differently or didn't do this or that while I still had the chance with them. I want my friends and family to know that what we have is truly special, so that way when they are told they have to shun me, hopefully they will at least stop and think twice about what they are loosing by following such a cruel policy. I know this is a pipe dream because the society spins it that us ex-jws are the ones who have lost, but that doesn't stop me from hoping just a little bit.

Jehovah's Witnesses are "not even wrong" and here is why.
by TerryWalstrom ina magician can demonstrate an empty hat from which, seconds later, he pulls a rabbit.
a rabbit in that empty hat?
in pre-enlightenment times, the easy answer was: magic was real--but--it was accomplished.

a situation I know of and the mind set of the elders.
by joe134cd inok here's the situation i know of.. a women was in a situation where she was forced to reveal a hidden sin and was given a private reproof for it.
before this she had an other wise clean slate.
btw the reproof was for an unrelated matter and had nothing to do with apostasy.

She'll be left alone for a while. Then one day they'll look through their records and realize "Oh, crap! We forgot about her. Better make a token visit before the CO get on to us..." They'll make their token visit, and depending on how she handles it, things can go a few different ways from there.
Most elders are way too busy be concerned with shepherding calls. Every elder I've ever talked to has told me they don't do this enough because of all the other things they have to do. When I was a MS and worked closely with them, I understood how busy they were. It's not that they don't care. I could tell most of them did, with a few exceptions. There are some that are in it just for the title. These are the ones that get all the stories that we read on here. But from my experience, the majority are just like all of us were before we left, beaten down and dragged out with no upside in sight.
I have been to all of two meetings this year. Two years ago I was a spiritual asset in the congregation, giving Public talks, fill-ins, and any responsibility that was asked of me. Fast-forward to now where I'm doing absolutely nothing, except a token hour of field service (informally) and an occasional meeting when my wife insists we go. I think I've fallen quite a ways, but after the initial effort to "pull me out of the fire" last year with a few back-room encouragements and one in-depth conversation with a local elder on why I can't believe in the teaching of this generation, they haven't shown any outward display of caring. No calls, no visits, nothing. It's been great sleeping in on Sundays and not having to get ready for the mid-week meeting after work though. And my wife has been missing just as much as me. It's funny how she's always sick the night of our midweek meeting. They make me sick too, lol. And when we wake up on Sunday's after the meeting has started, we just go on our way and find something to do, or just relax. It's nice.
So tell your friend to enjoy not being bothered. They'll come around one day. But until then, don't worry. They have no power over her.

WHAT was / is CHRISTIANITY?
by TerryWalstrom inwhat was christianity?.
it was like a pointillist painting:.
little dots, daubs, color splotches which only form a picture if viewed at a distance.. if you stand close, you see only the dots.

jhine: Terry I must (politely) disagree with your comment about all the different denominations thinking that only they are correct and all the others are WRONG .
I have to agree with Terry on this one. There's a difference in believing you have the correct view and respecting others rights to have their own view. This is why you see so many denominations. Two particular denominations may believe 99% of the same things, but its that one percent where each feels convicted they have a better understanding of scripture and why they have their own denomination. This doesn't mean that they don't have respect for their fellow Christians or view them as brothers in faith. But the idea is still there that each has the correct view and the other is wrong. Otherwise, what is the point of your faith if it is not to be fully convinced that you have the truth.
In our day, some people are becoming more liberal in accepting other interpretations of Bible passages. I guess this is part of the reason we are seeing more non-denominational churches, which allow people to focus on the universal "truths" in the Bible instead of on what has created denominational divisions.

The new doomsday mag
by Jonathan Drake inso i just took a look at this and here is the dilemma:.
where does the bible say that the world will be so literally destroyed like that?.
1. i believe one may think of the verse in zechariah or zephaniah about the dead to your right and left- however was regarding jerusalem.. 2. peter speaks of a new heavens and earth where the elements being intensely hot will melt.

As a public figure hopefully you can put it out there what a damaging cult the JWs are.
I second Jenma's post a year ago. DC Comics used to fight against Nazi Germany. It'd be great to see them fight against false religion and the JWs, 1960s Adam West Batman style. Wham! POW!
