this i never understood, the publications say that gods name translated from hebrew is yaweh.
why add a whole bunch of letters and vowels that change the sound of the name completely?
i've often thought surely we would gain greater respect on the ministry if we used a name that is historically and verbally accurate?.
I remember Sis Oldtimer pointing out that 'Christendom' had substituted the word 'Redeemer' for Jehovah in the hymn
"Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah". Now I sing it regularly with both variances depending on which hymn book/church I attend.
It so amused me to realise that it is actually Jesus who is being petitioned...

i don't believe he punishes or rewards people.
so by the same extention i don't believe any spirit beings can communicate with or influence humans.. many who do not believe in god though, have gone to fortune tellers.

Many testimonies of 'spirit guides' giving known-only-to hearer accurate family information (not cheap stage-act types using an 'assistant') to lure in victims and then soon mercilessly torturing all those involved, both physically and psychologically.
Remedy: Demand the demons leave in 'the Name of and in the Authority of Jesus Christ'. Ongoing prayer/support from fellow Christians.
well, i have finally got rid of my baptism cards.

Binned everything we could find (completely filled our wheelie bin) in the first week. Tore my NWT up in frenzied disgust. Found odds and sods over next few months lurking under beds, old handbags etc - couldn't get them out of the house fast enough.
while i was in florida during the spring visiting my oldest sister.
i had the time of my life with my brother in law.. you see my sister married a non-believer and my parents viewed him as the scum of the earth, so i was terrified to ever talk to him.
turns out he's one of the coolest people i have ever met.
Being uber kind to strangers, fellow shoppers, cashiers, pensioners, etc, 'feeling the love' I (and 2 teenage daughters) suddenly felt for them on a regular grocery shop. It was our first org-free day. I will never forget what it felt like to be liberated from decades of the 'hatred for the world' indoctrination . We got some funny looks but we had a spring in our step like caged animals suddenly set free. It was a beautiful sunny spring day too - it felt so good to be 'at peace' with ordinary people in our local community for the first time ever.

When you are awake to TTAT (you don't call it that) feelings of resentment start bubbling inside but you keep quiet, possibly for years.

Designs: Got you. I understood heretics as coming from heresy (opposition to accepted Doctrine) so was confused. 'Progress' could be used similarly to describe the relatively recent change to ordain women and now to become bishops. There is a reference to a woman bishop in the 3rd century, but by the 6th, women were removed from the position as they were eventually deemed 'unclean' to do their priestly duties because of menstruation. Researching the background of the probable bias used against women by the interpretation of certain scriptures, not allowing for context and perhaps additionally mis-using exegesis/ hermeneutics, together with inconsistencies in the greek to prevent them to teach and become ordained kept me busy for a few hours. It was incredibly interesting and worth the effort.
