Quit going to meetings, field service, personal study (of wtbts literature only), quit praying to an unknown god, and you probably will lose the depression.

in the year 2011, i was very ill with severe anxiety and panic attacks.. my psychiatrist prescribed two potent anti-depressants.. one day, when i was all alone, i heard a distinct voice say, "there are knives in the kitchen - small, medium, and large ...".
the voice trailed off, but the meaning was clear: use one of those knives on yourself!.
my niece in atlanta reported a similar experience when she was prescribed the same anti-depressants following a stillborn delivery.. i'm curious.. has anyone else experienced something like this?.

so, 'we' as jws are not supposed to be nationalistic or promote individual countries or cultures over another....isn't that correct?.
so, why do witnesses love to have "international" conventions where we see delegates all proudly wearing the stereotyped clothing of their native lands?.
arent witnesses supposed to be part of gods nation, separate from the world, speaking the "pure language"?.
Jw's are not suppose to think either! Just listen, obey, and be f*^#ked.

i believe that the older you are the harder it is to leave the watchtower.. .
i am attempting to get a list of ages people learnt the "truth" and what age they left.. .
uun.
I'm like Phizzy, started attending at 4 yo and now 67. Started doubting after '75 and serious doubting in '95 and left mentally about 2000. But I was a long time elder and the "spiritual" partriarch in our family. I kept up appearances until 2009. Dumb ,dumb, dumb.

five jehovahs witnesses traveling to convention feared to have drowned.
western region, ghana.

Very sad. Possibly the locals will be thinking that they must have been secretly practicing sin and big J punished them by letting them drown! Ah! the many mysterious, contrived stories that the WTBTS will spin off this tragedy.

i have a genuine question for the jw apologist.
.
what is your scriptural justification for your unquestioning obedience to the governing body and your unwillingness to question their intepretation of scripture?.
We were all fooled and wanted desperately to believe. Shit happens but it don't have to keep happening. We was told what to do and just did it, no questions asked. Today, "I'd rather have questions that cannot be answered, than answers that cannot be questioned!"

yesterday i was having a beer with a friend of mine who happens to be an accountant, and we began discussing this ridiculous arrangement that the watchtower has put in place.
after giving him the backstory of how the watchtower has been lending money to the local congregations and charging interest, he simply could not believe they had been doing that.. he then offered an explanation which really made sense to me.
he said that in reality what the watchtower society has been doing is actually not legal in light of their tax-exempt status.
Your friend is spot on. The only reason for the "all donation" arrangement is to avoid having audits from the IRS. It's a preemptive move by the WTBTS so that the IRS will not start looking into their finances and accounting. Smart business but not motivated by the love of the gb.
All the bull they spewed out about such "a loving arrangement by the gb" is a smoke screen to garner praise from the rank and file but the real reason has to do with BUSINESS.
The WTBTS is financed by contributions or donations that come mostly from congregations, right? Then they used to "LOAN" the money to those self same congregations, with interest, to build or remodel KH's. The congregations, in turn, would then repay the "LOAN" to the WTBTS" and when the "LOAN was repaid in full, guess who owned the KH?
It was a BUSINESS deal not "a loving provision". Even when they stopped "charging" interest, it was still a BUSINESS deal because there was a "LOAN" and a repayment plan/agreement.
Same reason Rutherford had to have JW's become a bona fide "RELIGION' back in the 30"s. So the dubs could maintain their "tax exempt" status.

for more than 100 years the watchtower played with the date 1914. some fairy tale interpetation about the lenght of certain pyramid passage way in egypt and a babylonian king regaining his sanity, not to mention a whole lot of sencondary fulfillment and a tremendous amount of gulibility and fugded figures for the ancient history dates of supoosed events.. basically it is the wild imagination of the writers and leaders of the watchtower printing corporation and it is used to sell more books that proclaim to unlock the mysteries of the bible and then use them as a sales pitch to get free workers to sell their printed product, a money making enterprise being passed off as religon to avoid taxation and alimony payments to russel's wife and one time co editor.. russel took a fancy to being reverved for his role as top ceo of his own company, and begrugingly excepted the title trust apon him by his indoctrinated readers, who following his cues, appointed him to the office of faithful servant mention in the parable about such a servant.. this seemed to work out good for the corporation but latter when its founder died, it caused problems for a book selling lawyer, rutherford, who managed to seaze power and kick to the curb any not following his lead all opposition was squashed and he then ruled supreme over the corporation.
later he went on to meet the lord in the air and rule with his noble faithful servant of the lord.
still no proof for this kingdom's existance except some corporation's claims that it was in operation since 1914.. but thru it all the hope and imaginary kingdom they have built up in the minds of their free labor drones has be able to do absolutely nothing, but strangely thru the power of the treat of disciplinary action the watchtower corporation has been able to keep the rank and file working for this imaginary never done anything kingdom of god, even till they die they hold on to this pipe dream.
What really sucks about the whole 'imaginary kingdom' is that we, and many of our loved ones, fell for it!

personally the jws to me are not dangerous.
on the other hand, many do think they are in fact a dangerous cult.
why are they dangerous?.
No JW's are not dangerous. The WTBTS is very dangerous. JW's are in danger and need help. The WTBTS needs to go to hel----p!
