Also, I don't recall Jesus inviting any 'respectful observers' to watch as he and the apostles passed and partook of the bread and wine! What scriptures contain that account?
just saying!
according to john 20:22 the apostles did not receive the holy spirit until after jesus was resurrected.
wouldn't this make them part of 'the other sheep' when they partook of the bread and wine?.

for several weeks i've been treating myself to a hot chocolate milk (well, soymilk) before bedtime.
some 16 oz soymilk which i heat on high in our microwave oven.
this is just enough time where the liquid begins to bubble along the top edge.. i then take it out of the microwave and place it on my kitchen gram scale, stir it good enough to redistribute the heat, then reset the scale to zero grams.. next, i squeeze in the hershey's sytup, "special dark mildly sweet chocolate" (fat free) into the warmed soymilk till the scale reads some 30 grams.
I think that your scale may have "overlapping" numbers that sometimes get confused. If all else fails 'wait on jehober'. Final answer!

just had a wild conspiracy theory.
get your tin hats everyone.
what if this mass letter writing is all a bethel conspiracy to increase declining service hours?
I remember several 'letter writing' campaigns in the past to various government officials on behalf of jw's. If you were a business owner (which I was), you were especially asked to write a letter, on your business letterhead stationary.
Of course the idea was to impress the letter's recipient that even business 'leaders' were concerned. What joke! But I did it like a good little dubber!

genesis 3:14 – “then jehovah god said to the serpent: “because you have done this, you are the cursed one out of all the domestic animals and out of all the wild animals of the field.
on your belly you will go, and you will eat dust all the days of your life.”.
the old gb and gb 2.0 differ on this matter.
Not only did the serpent loose it's legs, it also lost it ability to talk to humans!
Probably big J's divine punishment for looking at a naked woman!

and i can't wish him a happy birthday.
they converted when i was an infant, so birthdays were never a thing for us.
still, i'd love to be able to throw him a party, surround him with friends and family, and show him how much he's appreciated.
What a coincidence that this post appears today. I'll turn 70 in a few days myself. I faded, quite successfully, several years ago after spending nearly my entire life as a dub. Something that really struck me was a saying I once read, "Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured!"
So happy birthday to both of us! In 70 years you've seen a lot and experienced a lot life. Unfortunately, for jw lifers, they just continue to endure life and miss out on the simple little things that makes life enjoyable. So sad!
I was a 'golden boy' of the 60's and 70's in jw-dom! You know all that 'theocratic' stuff that I did for the borg. Pioneered at 18, first public talk at 19, prison at 20 for draft evasion, elder at 24, circuit assembly speaker at 25, etc., etc.
Started my really serious doubting in 1995 with the 'generation' changes, took a serious look at our real jw history and faced the facts till I just couldn't take it anymore about 10 years ago. Lots of wasted time. But then, "Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured!" and i ain't dead yet!

the june 2017 watchtower tells the experience of a bible student who was homeless and unkempt, but improved his appearance after being preached to.. peter began to change.
he bathed, neatlytrimmed his beard, and put on the betterclothes that don offered him.
peter continued to maintain a clean appearance.. so here we see that with a neatly trimmed beard the watchtower's writers view him as having "a clean appearance".
I started mine about mid November when the wt said it's okay if beards are common or cultural in your area. I figured, "what the hell". If the wt is going to be so f**king vague about stuff, it's time to start pushing the envelope. So far, a few slightly off hand comments but nothing to rough. Of course, I'm not being "used" in any way in the cong and barely attend anymore. Been inactive for a few years now since I "resighed" as an elder. I go on Sunday with my wife.
One of my former elder friend's did ask, "why now"? So I explained, " the the bible never speaks bad about beards so why is the org so concerned? Every outstanding male character in the bible had a beard including jesus and his pop."

background:.
my parents got the “truth” while i was in primary school.
i was baptised at 14. i loved school and was extremely studious.
Welcome doubtfull 1799
My experience in jw land is very similar to your's. I was in my mid 60's before I finally 'had enough and walked away'. Baptized at 12, pioneered for years, 18 months in prison for draft evasion during the Viet Nam war. Decades as an elder, you know the story.
When I finally realized that I had been duped for basically my whole life, it put me into a very dangerous downward spiral both mentally and emotionally. I checked myself into a mental health facility because I was also very suicidal. It took a bit of time, but I recovered and am happier now that ever because I'm no longer a captive of a contrived concept.
One cannot recover those lost years or even decades (damn), but we only live in one direction and making the most of what lies ahead is truly the best therapy. Hang in there and get into something that you always wanted to do. Life is to f**king short to not enjoy the things that bring you true happiness and satisfaction.
Contrary to wt teaching, this thing that we call LIFE is to be enjoyed-not just endured!

when i was jw, my standard answer to "saint....anything" day was "well, i am not catholic.
" that's still a valid answer that i would feel like giving if i was seriously questioned on any catholic or religious holiday, although i might change it to "well, i am not christian.
but fun is fun.
Of course St.Valentine's day is not as exciting as the 'Memorial'. But I like eating chocolate much better than watching crackers pass me by!

Do not let the shun-of-a-bitches run your life! If anyone asks, just tell them it was "necessary business" and that it's none of their business!

controversy has arisen regarding jesus versus paul as scholars debate the different emphases and messages of jesus and paul.1 jesus preached the kingdom of heaven.
paul did not.
paul preached justification by faith alone.
The Gb of the wtbts ignores them both and preaches their own brand of religion! IMHO
