Prof Bunsen / G Jackson?? See the similarities? It's the Muppet Show!

while watching the may 2017 broadcast, it struck us how similar g jackson looks (while sitting and wearing his waist coat) to the muppets character prof bunsen!!!!.

perhaps someone with better computer skills can upload the pics side by side?.

Everyone of the gb members certainly qualify as muppet characters especially when they appear on the jw broadcast. Lett has to be the chief muppet! There is just no end to their ridiculousness.

The absolute biggest change in their message that I've noticed is that I don't do it any more. Freedom never tasted so good!

Revised bible in Dutch

we had a special talk (streaming) today from g. jackson, announcing the new revised bible in dutch.

there are many many changes, even some of the the dutch 'jw-language' will change because bible verses changed.

also brother jackson admitted (be it in a joking way ) that whole talks in the past (until now) had been based on wrong translated bible verses.

i was looking around from some information on the wt's stance concerning the use of stem cells, and i came across this article on a defending jehovah's witnesses blog.. rather than informing the reader all that much about stem cells, the author diverts the conversation into a discussion of "blood fractions" (*note: the term "blood fractions" appears to be another one of those wt bloodspeak terms coined by the wt.

"blood components" or "blood products" are the terms used more frequently by the medical world.

"fractions" implies tiny amounts).

How Far Up The Ladder Did You Go In JW Land?

i pretty much did it all.

vacation pioneered as a youngster and became a regular pioneer out of school.

i became a ms then an elder.....the organization pushes you to be somebody within the confines of their realm.

Great topic since so many of us really believed that we were serving jehober and our fellow dubs as we ascended the wt ladder. It was the only thing that a 'dedicated' (male) witness was encouraged to aspire. we were soooo delusional! Oh My F*cking God were we delusional! It was so important as a young 'brother' to achieve those "stripes and badges" as we climbed that invisible ladder.

Too bad if you were born a woman! Nothing for you to aspire to in jehober's org except 'pioneer' and, maybe, if you were real lucky, the all important job of supporting your elder husband! IMHO, women would have been sooo much better at many of the organizational/congregation responsibilities and decision making positions.

I was like a jw "golden boy" so to speak. Vacation pioneered in the summer, baptized at 12 years old, gave my first public talk at 18 years old, married at 19 years old, regular pioneer at 20 years old, elder at 23 years old (when the 'elder arrangement' first began in 1972) and 'served' as an elder for over 3 decades off and on. I was used extensively for circuit parts and was a much requested speaker for public talks in our area of SoCal. I was sooo 'blessed' with sooo many "privileges"!----God I was great!---It was very hard to be humble when so much is heaped upon you so early in life and unfortunately, I ate it up like a buffoon! Other young ones in the 'troof' were out having fun, drinking, smoking, dancing, partying, doing a little weed (and other drugs), getting a little pu**y from some of the hotties in the vast SoCal area.

Me,----I was home studying for my next part on the meeting or circuit assembly or preparing my 'presentation.

Now I'm 70 and damn happy to be free of the wt organization even though I still attend occasionally to be with my lovely wife of 50+ years. I've seen a lot of sh*t go down in the wt borg. Not even close to what I knew as that "golden boy" growing up in the 60's and 70's. No "do overs" in life but it hasn't been all that bad either!

Just because something is old, does not mean it is "Special" or "Sacred" or "Valuable"

a thought occurred to me that simply because something is old does not make it valuable or worthy of sacred reverence.. the bible is held up as sacred just because it is "old" and apparently preserved.. but, that does not make sense.

if in thousands of years someone finds a notebook of my scribbles or sketches that i threw away, that doesn't elevate them to "valuable status" simply because they survived.

they were thrown away because they were worthless.. or if an archaeologist finds an ancient broken bit of pottery that was used for garbage disposal, it doesn't change its status from what it once was - a garbage bin.. i guess what i am trying to ask is, why is it that we as humans give value to writings just because they are old?.

The fundamentalist reasoning that the bible's age makes it special and from god is laughable. True, the bible is very old and it shows. Sh*t contained in much of the bible is so unbelievable, fanciful, offensive, macabre, and grotesque. It contains too many stories of fuk'ed up, immoral men that were considered 'god's friends', "faithful men of old". Women are pretty much and afterthought in bible mythology. Sure it has some words of wisdom sprinkled in also but "even a blind squirrel finds and acorn once in awhile".

I now consider the bible Hebrew mythology and nothing more. Oh and isn't Satan old?

Southern California USA Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses On High Alert

circuit overseers, elders, ministerial servants, pioneers and rank & file are stressed out over an ex-jw (kevin) who has visited nearly 20 congregations (orange county) and has high-jacked the opening prayers and done some effective witnessing before he is escorted to the back door.

and everything is caught on video!.

kevin is also visiting numerous jw cart locations from the los angeles area to orange county and giving a most effective wiitness at each location and they're all on video.

I totally agree with Simon's take on this type of 'shitty, stupid, irrational' behavior. There is never a justification, IMHO, for a mentally stable adult to interrupt and basically harass people in their place of worship. Also, by harassing the 'coffee cart' tenders demonstrates a certain lack of respect, humanity, and dignity.

While I'm extremely happy to no longer be a part of the wtbts organization, I do believe that most individual JW's are basically very nice people that are caught up in a cult like influence. Direct frontal attacks, such as this guy Kevin is using only reinforces their 'bunker' mentality and makes them dig in their heals!

My advice to Kevin--you need help!

The new personality

i've been thinking about the changes we make within ourselves after leaving the wts cult.

i'm not referring to how we spend our time now that we actually have some, but who we have become, or working to be?.

the gb carries on and on about "stripping off the old personality and putting on the new one.

I definitely 'stripped off the old personality'--the one I developed as a life long jw. Got rid of the superior attitude, the judgmental viewpoints, the 'holier than thou' attitude. I stopped drinking the wt cool-aid, stopped smoking the wt smoke screen, and stopped my drug addiction to the crack (pot), 'feel good' wt drug of everlasting life in a Paradise earth with my very own pet panda and lion.

I put on the 'new personality' of being the person I was born to be. No more FOG to interfere with living a good life. I'm a kinder, gentler, and more genuine human. I'm a better husband, because I now have time for my wife. No more fu*king busy work of always preparing meeting parts, assembly parts, public talks, elders meetings, sheep herding calls, kh cleaning, CO week crap,circuit assembly days, district conventions, field service, family study. Whew! I'm also , a better father and grandfather, for all the afore mentioned reasons.

Yes the 'new personality' that I have put on truly is the 'best way of life'.
