your thoughts on today's watchtower?.

i remember having this feeling when i was younger that something was off when it came to meetings and the people there seemed just off.i had feelings like that when i was like 5 or 6 and i would say i was kinda dumb back then but still i had a feeling like that when i would not have that often.still to this day i dont know what got me to have that feeling i was just wanting to know if any had this feeling to and still cant remember what made your mind give you a red flag..
The things that really bothered me, even as a kid, was how the wt always tried to make some incident that happened thousands of years ago "foreshadow" some modern day event. How some bible character pictured a modern day "class" of people. How the freaky scriptures in revelation about pouring out bowls of god's anger were fulfilled by some stupid convention in the 1920's.
So the words that made me have "that feeling" that something was off were;
foreshadow-picture- fulfill- modern-day fulfillment- secondary fulfillment-anti-type-prophetic fulfillment.
These were cult words and phrases to me as an young and teenage kid!

there is usually a metamorphosis that takes place for a person to leave the jehovah's witness religion.
most people do not just up and go simply because they realize this could not be the truth.
it often takes time.. for those that go to meetings or engage in the ministry, will you forever continue doing these things, knowing that it is all bs?
After being a "captive of a concept" for nearly 6 decades, I left mentally and emotionally about 8 years ago. I'm not even sure that I believe in god any longer. No fs and just a few meeting to appease my wife and mother in law. I've completely left the organization but have kept my foot in the door because of my family and friends.
I'm not at all concerned about "bringing reproach on the borg, but I am concerned about my family being scorned. Most of those that I call friends have been life-long friends, 50 plus years. I completely zone out when I do go to a meeting except when I hear some new bs and I mention it to my wife on the way home--in a kind and loving manner of course!
I still love the people, it's just the organization that I now detest. I know that others on this site have compared the wtbts to North Korea. I agree! Why don't the North Koreans just flee to the South? Their family and friends that's why.

hello everyone ive been posting about this situation about my daughters and their jw mom so if u want to get a back story about whats going on you can check out my previous posts.. note- daughters are only 5 months old, and i live in the united states.. right now im typing up my court orders to present to the court but ive come to a road block.
i want to add reasons to why its not a good idea to have my daughters be baptized at a young age.. here is my rough draft -.
"age appropriate baptism – i wish that my daughters to be baptized at the legal age of 18 years old.
Baptizing young people was a major issue to me when I was an elder and asked to 'go over the questions' with a baptism candidate. I refused to 'go over questions' with anyone younger than 18 simple because persons younger than 18 are not capable of making "the most important decision of their life" as jw's like to phrase it.
During a very spirited elders meeting discussion, I asked my fellow elders to show me just one example, from the Bible, where children or even teenagers got baptized. On the other hand, I showed them several scriptures, from the Bible, where "men and women" came to be baptized. No mention in the Bible of children being baptized. I also had a problem with the stupid 100 question before baptism. Just don't recall Jesus or the disciples "going over the questions" with the "men and women" that wanted to be baptized.

in the last week i have had three visits from brothers.
so 6 witnesses in all as they come in pairs.
now considering i used to go to the meetings, sit by myself and literally no one talked to me - ever - why the concern all of a sudden?.
I was an elder in our most recent congregation for over a decade. I resigned due to personal reasons and less than a year later I was inactive and have remained inactive ever since. I have had one brother express and interest in "what's up" with me. Other than that, I am treated as a regular jw when I periodically attend the kh with my wife. No visits from the "2 elders" nor from the CO to try and bring me back into the fold?
We live in a pretty liberal area in California so nobody really cares.

i have an online ex jw friend who pointed out to me that she stumbled upon a may 15, 1999 watchtower that had pictures of governing body members autographing bibles for people.
i have no bound volumes or cd rom copies anymore so i can verify.
two things came to mind, if this is true:.
Just a bit off the OP but about 10 years ago my family and I visited the farm in Walkill. As part of the "guided tour", by a very beautiful young sister, we stopped and she directed our attention to a small (maybe 3' x 3' x 3') glass enshrinement' that contained CT Russell's and JB Rutherfraud's bibles. I thought right then and there that we were being introduced to idolatry!
Anyone else remember that little enshrinement?

it's only a matter of time of course..... jw rumor mills will start up soon, with stories of how jws were "first on the scene" as the flood waters receded..... how the red cross and/or us national guard and/or doctors without borders and/or [you name it] were marveling at just how "organized" the jws are..... how zealous jws were pulling their trolleys thru ankle-deep water to "offer comfort" to victims, by giving them - sandwiches?
bottled water?
to offer them comfort by giving them 16 page "magazines" to read in their spare time..... so as the stories start to come in, you can "deposit" those little nuggets of bs here.. once collected, we'll wrap them in a pretty bow and flush them away where other instances of pure manure go..
There is a giant difference in helping the jw's in 3rd world countries when they experience a catastrophe and jw's in an industrialized country like the usa. 3rd world residents are usually ecstatic just to have a roof put back over their heads and enough to eat. Usually those poor people in 3rd world countries end up with a better place to live if their shack is destroyed. So in those countries, 'volunteer' workers are more than sufficient.
More affluent countries where jw's live expect much more when a catastrophe strikes and the clean up and rebuild begins. I've been to Houston and I know jw's around there. Many live in very luxurious homes so I don't think they will be welcoming 'volunteers' to repair and rebuild their homes.

not a peep about all victims, not even a prayer for them.
only pray for jws.
and who or what is jehovah's loving arm of support?
If all those hundred of thousands of prayers and letters didn't help jw's in Russia, it don't seem fair that jehober would answer the prayers for the american jw's. But then again, jw's are an american religion so maybe jehober will hear these prayers. lol NOT

i walked to the station yesterday to meet a friend, and on the way, in what must be the quietest street in the entire suburb, were two j.witnesses and their little cart, all set with a literature display.
i wondered what point there may have been to choose that location.
i felt like grabbing one of their bibles and reading matthew 5:15 to them:.
The word PRIVILEGE is and interesting word that definitely means different things to different people. Even though jw's say that they consider it a "privilege" to stand silently while doing the 'cart work', I truly believe that 99% of them are freaking embarrassed to be standing there doing 'nothing'. If I were still a jw, I would not do cart work. I know sisters that are commuter bethelites. They consider it a "privilege" to clean the sh*tty toilets at Warwicked! Holy crap me thinks!

organizational accomplishments - building a solid digital foundation.

organizational accomplishments—building a solid digital foundation video will be considered the week of september 11, 2017.
The wt organization is a worldwide leader in using technology. A prime example the (silent) cart work. If people just watch the 2 witnesses standing silently by the silent cart, they will surely be impressed by the technology of the wt organization!
