Does anyone have a good recipe for flatbread? When we were out west traveling in Utah, we were served all kinds of good food including flat bread. I had never had it before then. Delicious!!!!! Crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.
Anyone know how to make it?
i will start....i can speak conversational albanian....thanks to the foreign language field...really useful in everyday life as a cleaner....sniff...why didnt i pick mandarin?

Pmouse,.....please find the recipe! I am of sweedish and irish desent but being born and raised in Chicago, learned to love greek food!
Finally found it! Remember, this was my mom's -she got it out of a local newspaper in the early 60's and her notes aren't the best. There are some items I'm not totally clear on...but you catch the drift....
Louis Pappas Famous Greek Salad
Make a potato salad from these ingredients:
- 6 boiled potatoes
- 2 medium onions
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
- 1/2 cup salad dressing*
- Salt to taste
Salad Ingredients:
- 1 head lettuce
- 3 cups potato salad (above)
- 12 Roka leaves
- Tomatoes cut in wedges
- Cucumbers cut lengthwise
- 1 avocado
- Feta Cheese
- 1 green bell pepper
- Cooked beets
- Cooked shrimp (large jumbo fresh if possible)
- Anchovies
- Black Greek Olives
- Whole green onions
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup olive oil and salad oil, blended
- Oregano to taste
Arrange the above ingredients on a large platter and serve with toasted crisp greek garlic bread (Restrangled's sounded good). Potato salad under all of the above.
Louis' Dressing
- 1 cup mayonaise
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 cup chilled sauce ?
- 1 T. lemon juice
- 1/4 cup green pepper chopped fine
- 1/4 cup green onion chopped fine
Blend first four ingredients - add vegetables. Mix well. Serve ice cold with any seafood salad, preferable with crab meat then shrimp, etc.

Restrangled....ever been to Tarpon Springs FL and had the Louis Pappa's Greek Salad? They put potato salad in it...It's unique to the area....I've not been able to locate it any where else but FL.
My mother had the recipe from years ago....I've got to go through her recipe box and see if I can find it.

Hey, by the way, a really simple and quick potato side dish - get the fingerling potatoes, boil with salt for 20 minutes until tender, then drain in a colander - dump back in pan or in colander and sprinkle with McCormick's Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning.
The trick is not to cover them or the seasoning turns to mush and falls off the potatoes. The skins tighten back up, and you get a slight snap when you bite one. Combined with the buttery flavor of the fingerling and the kick of the seasoning, these make a great potato side dish.

That really sounds good! Have you ever heard of the Coca Cola cake? Where you just add a can of coke to a prepared cake mix (no eggs, oil, etc). I hear it is supposed to be very moist and good. Diet coke tends to make it low cal.

i used to entertain a lot but haven't in a few years.
now my husband and i have moved to a new house and i have invited some friends for sunday dinner, to see the new house.
i am at a loss to come up with something interesting to serve.

I'll start:
Sweet Potato Casserole:
Combine and beat until smooth. Pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole dish or oblong dish if you prefer. Top with the following:
Sweet Potato Casserole Topping
Combine sugar, flour and softened butter. Sprinkle over potatoes; top with pecans. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.
It never fails to disappear and I always get requests for the recipe. So what's yours?
