how suicidal thoughts can take over your life.. i lived most of my life thinking about suicide.

i have clear memories when i was 8 years old thinking about what it would be like to die.

i went to sleep every night of my young childhood saying the prayer:.

I so hated medication that I weened myself off it against the doctors advice. When the pain gets bad, I drink to mask it. 98% of the time I am great and lead a normal balanced life, but oh boy, when the black dog of depression hits, death seems wonderful. The other problem with myself is - I actually get bored of life. Fortunately the suicidal thoughts have not taken over completely. Only since the age of 32 have I felt this way. Weird. Scripture does of course no longer bring comfort. The only good thing - the JWs have one thing right - HELL FIRE is a totally wrong and stupid doctrine. So there is comfort in that.

I was totally the same - I was always curious. The more the society said "dont", the more curious I got.

so i've been away from anything witness-y for a number of months...what "new light" are they talking about now?

anything or is it all the same doom and gloom?

i haven't talked to my mom in awhile and when we do talk we don't talk about jw stuff much except for her bragging about rbc stuff.. what news is there?

OH - the once demonized World Wide Web - aka Internet. - a Whole Kingdom Ministry (Decmeber 2012) devoted to it - all about the benefits of the Society website - use it in family study , on the ministry, etc, etc

Well if I was a self-important selfish bastard on the GB that is what I would do. 1 year I would do a nice talk in Australia, the next year somewhere in Europe - oh and how about one in Hawaii. Must be wonderful travelling the world at the brothers expense for your own benefit. International conventions each year - wow that will keep the travel desk at Bethel busy.

today's watchtower made it clear that jehovah uses the governing body, no mention of the faithful & discreet slave.. i think they need new light on this in the next year or two..
