  Ok, I went to the public talk. It was all about relying on Jehovah to solve our problems/worries and not pschology.
  
  My brother went on and on about why we cannot rely on psychology/therapists because they are constantly changing their ideas/tecniques. He spent a whole lot of time bad mouthing psychology and then took about 30 seconds to say:
  
  "friends, don't get me wrong, we are not saying not to go seek professional help . . . that is your own personal decision." Then he started to talk negatively about psychology again.
  
  Why doesn't he and the rest of them get it? Can't they hear their own double talk!
  
  In the beginning of his talk he implied that Californians are stupid for electing the Terminator as theit govrner. He never said "The Terminator" or "Arnold Schwarzenegger." But never-the-less we all knew who he was talking about.
  
  But he did imply that Californias looked to the AS to solve their problems b/c he saved the world in his movies. LOL
  
  Now, I agree that the general public can be pretty stupid at times but . . . I hardly doubt they thought well he saved the world on the big screen I'm sure he can save our state. LOL
  
  Even though everything my bro was spewing out was non-sense (to put it nicely) He is a pretty good public speaker. That is all I can say about that.

  Dansk, If I go I'll try to hide in the bathroom when they go around counting heads. LOL Honestly, I won;t feel bad about increasing their numbers.
  
  Field service afterwards! LOL my mother never goes out on field service. My mom is all about bragging. She is so excited that my bro is giving a talk. She invited many of my non-dub relatives.
  I'm surprised she didn't pass out flyers.
  
  So, what should I wear? Pants or a dress?

  Ok, so part of me wants to go just to kind of meausre my "awakening." I want to see how far I've come since walking aways a believer back in 1999.
  
  Since then I've only been to the KH once, for a funeral service.
  
  This will be a new talk my bro is giving not the same old tired one I think he's been giving since 1999.
  
  The one thing that is keeping me from going is I am afraid of giving my family false hopes.
  
  Feel free to talk me out of going.

  I think your letter is great, very well written. You mentioned your mother is 72 and I am sure somebody already brought this up to you . . .
  
  Do you think it is worth giving your mom this letter? I'm sure you already decided that you could live with the concequences, but, what about your parents?
  
  How hard are they going to take this? Maybe it would be more selfless of you to just carry on as if you are just simply inactive but still a believer. Maybe then your parents will feel better and not be afraid of death and/or armageddon knowing that you still have a chance.
  
  Well just something to consider if you haven't already.

  with all the "buzz" around the up-comming october anouncment, i have a question.

  i have thought about this for a long time, is it possable that they would tell all those married to non-witnesses to divorce their mates?

  it could be for the reason of "unevenly yoked", and/or keeping spritually clean.

  I just don't get how they could hype everyone up for a big announcement more than months away.
  
  I cannot believe that the elders haven't leaked it yet, unless they themselves haven't been told by the org.
  
  It all sounds like non-sense to me.

  The more I think about it the more I realize my doubts started very young.
  
  I was somewhere between 6 and 8 when after a meeting my sister (10 yrs my senior) told me (While walking to our car in the parking lot) not to talk to this guy outside. I remember she told me don't talk to so-in-so, he's df'ed.
  
  I remember feeling so bad for this guy b/c nobody could talk to him. Even a young child could comprehend that there was something not quite right about shunning.
  
  The "No Blood Transfusion Policy" never set well with me either.
  
  Then at 13 before I took the big step of baptism an elder asked me if I had any questions about the"Truth" that he could help me w/ before I got dunked.
  
  I told him that I don't really get how we have to pay for Adam and Eve's mistake. Why couldn't Jah hust destroy them and start all over? The answer, though I taught it to others, never felt satisfying to me.
