so many times in the jw, i saw couples getting married.
but what struck me so often was the difference in age between the man and wife.
often the man was 15-25 years older than the woman.
I don't agree with big age differences myself. But there are exceptions: If the man and woman are well over 35 then I don't care. I hate to see an older man like 45 marrying a woman under 25. That really gets under my skin! I think most men who marry younger women are just trying to find a mate they can either control or mold into exactly what they want.

I say bless you all the time to people. I have to be careful because it's such a habbit now I want to say it to my JW family members.
I still do not watch any movies that are about ghosts or demons. That is too freaky to me. I'd rather play it safe and just not go there. I did see the Sixth Sense though, my boyfriend had to drag me in. I loved it!
I feel weird about holidays even though I give my boyfriend and his family gifts.
My boyfriend's little sister is having her First Holy Communion this month (still have no idea what that means) and I am feeling weird about going into the church. This is still a little weird for me.
my wife and i resigned from the wtbs last year.
we have a 13 yr. old daughter left at home.
we have 2 married daughters that have nothing to do with us but want to associate with their little sister.

First of all, I love your name! So many of you come up with clever names. Why I cannot be so creative I'll never know. LOL, really I love that name!
Maybe you should tell your daughters if they want to see their little sister they'll have to come to your home. That sounds fair to me. Then we shall see if they truly want to see their sister because they love and miss her or if they just want to impose their beliefs on her. Don't get me wrong I am sure they love her but they love the organization (not God) more.
My siblings are very much active in the Congregation, I love them dearly. But when they take an interest in me often times it is just to preach to me.
lf you allow your daughter to go (Nobody would hold it against you) ask them to respect your belief system as you do theirs and not preach to your daughter. Then if they do just tell them due to the fact that you did not respect my wishes, from now on you may only visit your sister in a supervised setting.

The way those people act on the show is just like most of the talks sisters give and all the demonstations at the meetings and the assemblies. They sound so phony!

i was wondering how many, if any of you went out with a bang, like on a sunday morning meeting while you were giving a talk, or maybe while you were giving a #2 or #4 talk on the ministry school.
Welcome to the board. I am new here as well. I also faded away. I understand your fear of being found out too. I am not ready to face the Elders yet either. I am afraid they will play on my emotional state and suck me back in. I am in the process of my researching phase, I am trying to find out myself the "truth" and history behind the organization.

it involves people born into the jw cult versus those that made an adult decision to join it.. my thoughts were:.
anyone not born into the cult have no idea of the mental anguish involved in being brainwashed, from birth, with all the cultisms.

I think about this often. I was raised born a JW. Even though I have my doubts, I really am scared to think that I will die at Armegeddon for questioning these beliefs. This is what we have all been taught from the time we can remember. It is definately hard to shake these ideas and more importantly some or most of us are too scared to. There is always that question in the back of our minds "would if they are right? Would if this Organization really has the truth?" . I don't think people who become JW's later in their lives really get this. Maybe some do. For the most part though, I think they only understand a little more than a person who was never a JW. And of course, I am sure there are exceptions.

I read your intro and it is dimilar to ine in that I too faded away and I do not want to deal with being DF'd or disassociating myself at this time. I fear losing my siblings. I am just now starting to invesigate the teachings of the "WT Society" We have been taught so much, you are right it is hard to just push it out of your mind so quickly. I have already wrote a letter to the United Nations and asked them about the Organization's association with them. I am waiting for a reply.
I have question for you: What do you know of the bands the Witnesses had on them back in the early 90's or maybe late 80's? I figure you may have more knowleddge since you came from a spanish congregation. I am trying to investigate this information as well. According to some people on this site (anybody correct me if I am wrong) Mexico was not allowed to pray or sing their kingdom melodies at meetings not because of religious pesecution but, because the Witnesses did not want to be recognized as a religious organazation but, rather a culteral org. so that they can own property. I would like to research this further outside of Franz's Crisis of Conscience book. Any suggestions would be helpful.
