I knew witnesses that went on cruses and hit the slots, done it myself and the goody, goody ex-wife too! Now I buy a Fla Lotto ticket twice a week, even did the Tats in Australia. Anyone want to fess up? I won the football pools at a local diner six times last year and it paid for all my other tickets/games. Maverick

My life story... by Confuzcious.
by confuzcious inhello friends,.
since i'm not going to the memorial for the first time since i've became a witness, i wanted to post my "j dub" life story as a form of therapy.. i guess i'm posting this here, also, as sort of a refreshment for others who taken this road.
after much study, i've finally disassociated myself - in my heart at least.

I can relate to a lot of what you feel. Near the end I was an MS and drove a custom Jag and took a lot of heat because of my success in my profession. Though I work for people of your social standing, my education and training allowed me a freeness and intimacy with my clients few in my profession attain. Most of the witnesses I knew did the bare minimum when it came to their secular work. I found that appalling! My work ethic and drive compel me to do the very best I can, at work or at the Hall, and I employ a level of mastery that many find bewildering. But that is who I am. Many J-duds felt uncomfortable around me. And that greater respect I received in my work was matched by the lack of respect at the Hall. That last year if a J-dud asked me a question about my craft I would blow him off and avoid him. They treated me as unworthy until they needed something , I was over it! I am glad you are at peace with who you are, and happy you are able to move on. I know in time I'll go that same road. Your servant, Maverick

I did a threat a while back on the WatchTower and higher education. In todays world having a high school level education will severely limit your ability to support yourself. Not only will college better equip you to deal with the world, you will meet people who can help you when you finish. These 'contacts' have the potential to assist you as much as the knowledge you will acquire. It's a big world out there, go for it. The only real losers are those who don't get in the game! Maverick, in school for life!

Happy about having been a JW?
by Brummie inare you happy to have been a jw?
is there a constructive side in it all for you?
or do you wish you had never seen their culty smiles?.

Maverick
Brummie this is a good question, I had to think about it and for me as with all the elements that make me who I am, I am glad I lived through this one as well. I've nearly been killed a half dozen times so far in my 48 years and each time I overcome some trauma I emerge changed. Being a J-dud is part of that process. I do admit I like who I am now a lot better than when I was a company man. And even thought I suffered greatly being married to a bi-polar 'truthbaby' for 15 years I have my daughter. Regrets, plenty. Would I do things different, perhaps. Am I sorry, no. But I do want to help others out of that mess if I can. Thank you for helping me call these feeling to mind. Maverick

I RENOUNCE MY ASSOCIATION WITH JWS
by REALNESS init is my pleasure to announce i have terminated my membership of the jehovahs wittnesses.
i shall be formally making this statement known to my congregation at tomorrow nights meeting after i have taken the ministry school.
for many years i have developed my own thoughts on religion and this along with the information i have learned here and on other sites has convinced me that i can no longer live teaching the bollocks the wtbs.

Realness:You have taken the first step as a free person. Beware of the PO and his BS! Say as little as possible to him. Give him little to latch on to. You are on your turf. You set the tone. Do not be timid or submissive to this man. He is just a man, nothing special, no power but what YOU give him. And give him NOTHING! I wish you peace. Maverick

Tattoos anyone?
by Maverick inwhen my ex ran amuck i got a tattoo of barbwire encircling my left bicep.
for me it was a symbol of the imprisoned state i found myself in.
i was an ms at the time and no one said a word!

If anyone is not sure they want to get a tat, get a temp one and see what kind of response you get. I knew a lady who had cat eyes right over a very special place, it as cool! My daughter wanted one when she was fifteen and I told her no. I said the ex. will have a cow if I let you get a tattoo. And I told her I would go after the shop that puts one on her! She waited and had one done in Paris that Spring, the little brat! At eighteen she had one done on the small of her back, hurt like hell! Maverick, who only has one!

Clayton Peace, what a pompous weasel he is! This guy had one unifying quality, he was disliked by everyone. Six foot eight, mid-western pile of dog s--t! Told me he would not recomend me to be an Elder because I had a mustache and wore cowboy boots! I looked up at him and pointed at my spotless, polished Justins and told him at least my foot gear were clean, not dirty and scuffed and looking like I stole then off the back of a car with 'Just Married' soaped on the back window! He turned beet red and walked off and never spoke to me again! He never did clean his shoes, he'd have been on guard duty his whole hitch in the military. Maverick

question for all who read CoC
by Realist ini have a question that i really would like to get answered.... did ray franz mention anything about whether the gb members actually believe they are inspired by god or whether they are fully aware that what they spew out is nothing but pure bs!?.

The vehicle to dispense spiritual food has become self aware. It is the one served now and not the server. The Governing Body built a corporation to aid them and now are its protectors and promoters. They are the high priests of their Corporate God! They drink its intoxicating brew and see visions! They turn their backs on the temple, (Jesus) and bow to it, (the organization) in secret....Written in the style of The Nations Shall Know. Except I used periods instead of commas. Maverick
