christianity was birthed in a polytheistic world, inheriting from jewish roots the concept of one g-d. now, instead of one god for israel, we are offered one god for the whole world.
caesar (mortal men) was declared a god.
gods had powers beyond ordinary men, could grant requests, and demanded sacrifice and worship.

Satan is termed the God of this system of things.
It is possible that there could be other God's, equal to the Creator, each forming their own realities. We just happen to be part of this reality.
This is the problem, we have been so worn down by Watchtower's false prophecies and predictions, that if and when these global signs do happen we won't even be looking for them but will be ridiculing what we don't understand.
This article has nothing to do with Harold Camping.
As for clay tablets depicting moral decay thousands of years ago, you are missing the fact that technology and human society have improved in leaps and bounds since then; we are all interconnected, we all rely on each other, go to a supermarket, where does your food come from, who ships it to the supermarket, who grows it etc.
This planet's inhabitants are dependent on each other for the jobs we do to some degree.
There is stuff happening, and while we have always had earthquakes and tsunamis, they have not been as close together in frequency as they have now.
I've lived in the UK and USA and think that the UK has the best music and America has the best movies, but then again I'm biased.
Sorry about that, first post messed up...

Looking around it is plain to see that something is going on that did not used to be. Strange weather events, wars so complex and numerous, famines and talk of more to come. On and on this sad story goes, but are we seeing signs of the last days?
Open your Bible to Luke 21. Let's read what God said in verses 25-28. If you need a Bible or would like a better one, check out the selection they have at Cedar Springs Christian Store located at 6634 Clinton Highway, Knoxville TN, 37912-1016 and also at 504 North Peters Road, Knoxville TN,37922-7503.
What does God say?
Vs. 25 "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Vs. 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Vs 27 And then shall they see the son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Vs 28 And when these things begin to come to pass then look up and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."
Are we seeing these signs?
It does appear that we are most definitely seeing sings of the last days. People who regularly watch the sun, moon and stars have seen many great wonders in this year alone. The sun has been giving off solar flares, even NASA has sent probes to monitor the backside of the sun.
The moon was a "super perigee" on March 19, 2011, meaning it was closer than it normally is every 18 years when there is a perigee.
Stargazers are seeing things that cannot be explained world wide. Then the more dedicated onlookers are talking of Planet X, Niburu and Comet Elenin. All of these are making many nervous as they near the earth. Go out and look for yourselves, it is very common to see falling stars, and small lights moving across the sky. Whatever all of these things are, it would appear that people are seeing signs in the stars.
There definitely is distress of nations. The middle east is turned inside out with all the chaos. Even the U.S. is not spared internal turmoil with politics being the main source. It is quite obvious that these new wars are full of perplexity.

Now looking towards the seas or oceans. They have been causing a large amount of trouble for mankind. Look at all the trouble Japan has been through since March 11, 2011. Men's hearts began failing it seems at that time.
Looking at all of these events happening all at the same time, would indicate that we are seeing last days events. Sure events like tsunamis and heavenly things, as well as wars have occurred before, just not all at the same time, and to the degree they are today.
Verse 27 of this passage springs forward to give us hope. The Son of man (Jesus) will come, and will be seen by all at the end of days. He comes to end the time of trouble, to finish things and make things right. This is the second coming spoken of in Revelation 19:11 " And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse: and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war..."
Verse 28 speaks of something else happening "And when these things begin to come to pass then look up and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."Jesus comes to rapture the redeemed. Have you been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb? "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" Romans 2:23-24.
"For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom. 6:23 .."These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13.
If you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have the hope that your redemption draweth nigh.
Notice it says... " when these things BEGIN to come to pass then Look UP"! It won't be long for those who believe until Jesus returns for his bride! If you do not know Jesus as your Savior, today would be a great day to make that decision. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!" Romans 10:13

You had Richard Cullen? I thought he was OK but I was young at the time, what did I know?
We had David Bingham for CO - he always seemed to hang with the pioneers and other high flyers. I spoke to him once how I was treated in the congregation and he told me I should just move to another hall!
