A brother I know lost his privileges as a ministerial servant because he married his wife who was studying the bible and came into the truth anyway. Go figure!
It shows that bible studies are viewed as second class citizens, despite going to the hall, studying, preaching etc.
it's actually 4pm right now in south africa.

The BBC has been accused of 'absurd political correctness' after dropping the terms BC and AD in case they offend non-Christians.
The Corporation has replaced the familiar Anno Domini (the year of Our Lord) and Before Christ with the obscure terms Common Era and Before Common Era.
Some of the BBC's most popular programmes including University Challenge, presented by Jeremy Paxman, and Radio 4's In Our Time, hosted by Melvyn Bragg, are among the growing number of shows using the new descriptions.
i realized today that i have no friends at all...it's me and my wife and two dogs and three goldfish, thats it's....i'm not too bothered by it but my wife wants to go back just for the friends.....i have de-programed her out of the "matrix" and she now thinks for herself, but she still feels like she needs a spritual side and friends.
i have people at work but we don't hang out.
i've become a a loner.

My wife and I are in the same boat and it's been 3 years, we still live in the territory, I hardly see them and I go all over town.
We vacationed with some of these people and it all counts for nothing.
i have been giving a lot of thought to the young people who are leaving the watchtower organization in recent years.
last night, i was reading the thread posted by jwfacts a while back in which he provided some statistics and graphs showing the rapidly declining growth in the watchtower.
one factor that was discussed at length was the high number of young people who do not stay in the organization.

Excellent post! I really enjoyed reading it.
You are absolutely right on this issue. The Watchtower offers a dry, stale, repetitive and monotonous form of worship and as you said, it is a one size fits all. There is absolutely nothing for young people in any way, shape or form. The best the "faithful and discreet slave" can offer its young people is a lifetime of "service" and more "service" - Bethel, Gilead etc, this is the best they can do.
Any talents or gifts a young person has cannot be pursued unless, of course, it is in Kingdom service.
The advent of social media in the last five years is the final nail in the Watchtower coffin - no longer can they control information as they once could.
I see steady decline over the next few years.

I too have lost a friend in death, my only true friend - he died suddenly in his sleep.
I had another friend who I reached out to a couple of months ago. We have not spoken for over 10 years. I wrote to this individual via Facebook - I had hoped to receive some sort of reply but there was nothing.
You win some you lose some. Sometimes, those who leave want absolutely nothing to do with the org no matter how many friends they had.
I am glad you had some success getting reaquainted with your friend, but now a door has been opened and you may be left with more questions than answers.
