I see no reason why the ark could not have survived, after all God shut the door of the ark, what makes you think he couldn't have held it together?

EntirelyPossible,
When you can build something bigger than a toy boat, let me know how your math works out.
Done. The math works out so that the ark would be totally destroyed in an open sea.
That was easy. Next.
The ark was a floatation device not a luxury ocean liner. It's sole purpose was to provide salvation from God's wrath. You act like it was supposed to cruise all over the world.
The ark of salvation carried Noah's family high above the deep waters of a drowning wicked and doomed world judged to annihilation, a way of salvaging those who were righteous in God's eyes.

EntirelyPossible is calling me a fundie because I believe something he doesn't.
Is this what's called fundiephobia?

Poopsiecakes,
I'm assuming you and everyone else here does not believe the bible. There are many references to the flood.
2 Peter 2:4-9 For if God didn't spare the angels who sinned, but threw them down into Tartarus and delivered them to be kept in chains of darkness until judgment; and if He didn't spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others, when He brought a flood on the world of the ungodly; and if He reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes and condemned them to ruin, making them an example to those who were going to be ungodly; and if He rescued righteous Lot, distressed by the unrestrained behavior of the immoral (for as he lived among them, that righteous man tormented himself day by day with the lawless deeds he saw and heard— then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment"

Genesis 6:14-22
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
14 Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with rooms, and shall [a] cover it inside and out with pitch. 15 This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark three hundred [b] cubits, its breadth fifty [c] cubits, and its height thirty [d] cubits. 16 You shall make a [e] window for the ark, and finish it to a cubit from [f] the top; and set the door of the ark in the side of it; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.

When a person doesn't believe in super natural miracles why bother arguing matters.
My point precisely.
