London Bethelites Living on Their Nerves?
by The Searcher injust got home and received information from a source regarding london bethel: .
a bethel couple told my source that they are getting rid of about 20/25 bethelites every week and that if they are to go, they will get called in on a friday and given their leaving date.everyone is "on edge" and hoping that if they get the boot, they've got time to make alternative plans.. perhaps bethelites everywhere should apply this scripture, by looking for a job and accommodation now - and then just resign from their "vow of poverty" without giving advance warning.
(proverbs 22:3) "the shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, but the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences.".

Then why build the new Bethel facility in Chelmsford if they are laying off Bethelites. Isn't this facility supposed to be bigger than Mill Hill? -

Does the Federal employment law requiring notice of 60 days of mass layoffs apply to Watchtower Corporation?
by truthseeker inyes, bethelites are unpaid volunteers/employees.. this mass firing of bethelites in the us will prove to be a drain on state and local government finances as many of these bethelites will seek government assistance.. can it be said that the federal employment law applies to bethel?.
a federal law called consolidated omnibus budget reconciliation act ... act (warn) requires larger employers to give employees notice 60 days before an ... layoffs, which are defined the same as above but occur in stages over a period of 90 days.. http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/layoffs-plant-closings-know-rights-33596.html.

Notice Requirements
The federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) requires larger employers to give employees notice 60 days before an impending plant closing or mass layoff that will result in job losses for a specified number or percentage of employees. Employers who don't comply with this notice requirement may have to pay workers for every day of notice they didn't receive. Under similar state laws, laid-off workers may be entitled to some severance or benefits continuation, as well.
WARN applies only to employees with 100 or more employees, and only if there is a plant closing or mass layoff. The law defines these terms as follows:
- A plant closing is the permanent or temporary shutdown of a single employment site or one or more facilities or operating units with a single site, which results in job loss for 50 or more employees (not including those who work fewer than 20 hours per week) during a 30-day period.
- A mass layoff is a reduction in force that results in job loss at a single employment site, during a 30-day period, for (1) 500 or more employees (not including those who work fewer than 20 hours per week), or (2) 50 to 499 employees (not including those who work fewer than 20 hours per week), if the laid-off employees make up at least one-third of the employer's active workforce.
The law also covers staged plant closings or layoffs, which are defined the same as above but occur in stages over a period of 90 days. This rule is intended to prevent employers from getting around the law's requirements by conducting a series of smaller layoffs.

The Society cares more about Mark Sanderson's stick of Judah than the elephant in the room
by truthseeker ini just watched the segment of mark anderson's, gb member, talking at the annual general meeting.. they care more about obscure prophecies than the child abuse crisis in the organization.. he talks about the two and ten tribe kingdoms of israel, the stick of joseph and stick of judah, and likens it to the anointed and great crowd.. what a bunch of craziness!.
this is the kind of crap spiritual food the drones get..

I never even heard of the two sticks prophecy in Ezekiel. Probably fell asleep when it was being discussed.
"What is the modern day fulfillment? How are these words fulfilled in our time?" says Sanderson.
I thought we were done with types and anti-types?
"The prophecy began to be fulfilled in 1914 especially since 1919 and now this prophecy regarding the two sticks would begin to be fulfilled."
Totally bonkers.
"We can now say with confidence that the stick of Joseph in our modern day represents the other sheep with an earthly hope. Jehovah has taken these two groups, his anointed servants and his precious other sheep and he has brought them together within his almighty hand. they are no longer two sticks but one stick. One nation in the hand of Jehovah."
"Behold, one nation, one stick, in the hand of Jehovah"
Raptuous applause from the dubs

John Aquila,
I am of that 30-40 generation. 39 to be exact.
I got connected to web in 1999. This was way before MySpace and Facebook.
I am somewhere between Gen X and Gen Y. The Millennials grew up with Facebook, smartphones etc. For my age group we adopted it.
I disassociated in 2012.
I think our age group has more chance of leaving and making some sort of life for ourselves.

THE WATCHTOWER (STUDY EDITION) JANUARY 2016
by wifibandit inpdf .
this issue contains the study articles for february 29 to april 3, 2016.. what about the number of those partaking at the memorial?12, 13. why should we not worry about the number of those who eat the bread and drink the wine at the memorial?12 in recent years, we have seen an increase in the number of those partaking at the memorial of christs death.
that trend contrasts with the decrease in the number of partakers that we saw for many decades.

Absolutely laughable....
During the last days, Jehovah has
continued to select those who will make
up the 144,000.[2] If he chooses to wait
until late into that period to select some
for that privilege, who are we to question? The Gibbering Body questioned those who claimed to be of the anointed by questioning their mental health

On the realization you will not "live forever"
by problemaddict 2 insomething struck me last week.

problemaddict 2,
Thank you for your post. I do struggle with this. It's hard to just accept that you will one day die when all you have ever known is living forever in Paradise on earth.
As I approach middle age I realize that my time and my life are precious to me.

In the unlikely event of organizational collapse: Safe Haven and Outreach Centres for JW survivors
by truthseeker inimagine if the watchtower completely collapsed.
now image millions of people who put jehovah first suddenly see their hopes, dreams, beliefs and faith shattered.. they have been told all their lives that there is no place else to go except jehovah's organization.. there will be casualties from the fall out - perhaps hundreds or thousands of suicides.. the exjw community should do all they can, if able, to help these ones.
they are in the best position to understand their fellow jws.

They are in the best position to understand their fellow JWs. Counselors and psychologists who are unfamiliar with the religion or its demands will not understand how the JW system can destroy the mind.
That might include opening up our homes, utilizing community centres or god forbid, churches! to assist these ones.
