According to the scriptures, Jehovah “makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous.” - Matthew 5:45
In that case, if we look at the account in Genesis, God is shown to give Pharaoh a dream that he will cause seven years of famine.
Genesis 41: Pharaoh’s Dreams
25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years; it is one and the same dream. 27 The seven lean, ugly cows that came up afterward are seven years, and so are the seven worthless heads of grain scorched by the east wind: They are seven years of famine.
28 “It is just as I said to Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do. 29 Seven years of great abundance are coming throughout the land of Egypt, 30 but seven years of famine will follow them. Then all the abundance in Egypt will be forgotten, and the famine will ravage the land. 31 The abundance in the land will not be remembered, because the famine that follows it will be so severe. 32 The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon.
Note, this wasn't just Egypt where famine happened...
56 When the famine was spread over all the face of the earth, then Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold to the Egyptians; and the famine was severe in the land of Egypt. 57 The people of all the earth came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the earth. The JWs teach that God cannot be held responsible for bad things.

7 Worse yet, religious teachers sometimes lead people to think that God is hardhearted. How so? When tragedy strikes, they say that it is God’s will. In effect, such teachers blame God for the bad things that happen. Is that the truth about God? What does the Bible really teach? James 1:13 answers: “When under trial, let no one say: ‘I am being tried by God.’ For with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone.” So God is never the source of the wickedness you see in the world around you. (Read Job 34:10-12.) Granted, he does allow bad things to happen. But there is a big difference between allowing something to happen and causing it.
How would you reconcile what the Watchtower says with what God told Pharaoh? -

The elders of the 1980s are now in their 60s and 70s
by truthseeker inhaving just come back from the uk and spoke with some witnesses to find out how my old congregation is doing, i realized i am now the age that my elders were when i was a kid.
and i wonder what the elders who are now in their 60s and 70s are thinking when they look in the mirror and an old face looks back at them.
many of the elders in my old hall are now retired.

Very interesting comments, thank you.
And this does disturb me: ""Friends, I know we are getting old, but don't despair, very soon we are going to be laughing and the rest of the world is going to be crying in despair when Armageddon finally arrives and everyone will know we had the truth."
In a few years he may be carried out in a box and then it will all have been for nothing.

Churches use facial recognition software to track congregants
by truthseeker inhttp://rt.com/news/270121-church-facial-recognition-software/.
churches are joining the widening club of entities using big brother-style facial recognition software to track people.
and they are doing so in secret, according to a producer of a specialized program designed for religious institutions.. churchix uses cctv footage or photos to match churchgoers against a database of high-resolution pictures that a church has to compile on its own.

Churchix uses CCTV footage or photos to match churchgoers against a database of high-resolution pictures that a church has to compile on its own. The software can be used to monitor attendance numbers, and alert church officials if some members stops coming to services. It can also screen for people banned from the church, Greenshpan explained.

Oh Damn...I have been sprung!
by stuckinarut2 ini knew it could happen one day...yet i was so careful..... sitting at the sound cabinet, i had our awesome forum open on my tablet, and didn't see the microphone brother looking over at me...... he wandered over and asked me "whats that site?".
i quickly responded "oh, i googled to get to our jw.org site, and this must have popped up" while quickly closing it.... he didn't look too fussed, but my heart was beating..... he is pretty chilled out and certainly not an "uber-dub"...but this was a wake up call to be more careful...i am fading fast, but don't want anymore attention from the nazi-elders while doing so!.
be careful all!

March Broadcast- Jehovah is speeding up the work
by adjusted knowledge ini watched some of the segments on the jw broadcast.
in the video they showed how they managed their inventory orders for the congregations.
at the conclusion it was stated by the narrator how god is speeding up the work.. the problem is the system they implemented has been used for over two decades in logistics.

How many people have died since Jehovah began speeding up the work?
The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous.

What person/persons/group is behind the rebranding of Jehovahs Witnesses
by truthseeker inwith the jw rebranding program in full swing, who do you think is behind all this?
i'm not certain the governing body came up with these ideas.
at least not the old guard which died off around 2009.. given the fairly recent articles in the kingdom ministry and watchtower about the dangers of the internet and having the latest gadget, this rebranding effort can't have been in the works for much more than three years.. the makeover is slick...very slick...and very clever.

The makeover is slick...very slick...and very clever. Beyond the mindset of GB 2.0. And given the lack of college education, whoever designed this new marketing tool knew exactly what they were doing and were well versed in human psychology.
JW TV, JW animations and the logo are not the ideas of amateurs.
If we could find out those really responsible for this religion's makeover, it would go a long way to solving the puzzle as to why the makeover was really necessary. We think we know why and say it was on poor retention of children and teens, but is there more to this?
