  Wow! My brother is just too dumb for words....

  ok we know it's a stupid mind control cult but sometimes to see it in the flesh is just a slap in the face.... i lent my brother karen armstrongs the bible - the biography, which is a great book to help understand the bible, i have read it twice and it was very informative.

  i had hoped my brother may find it likewise and actually learn something.. not a frickin chance.

  he gave the book back today with an agitated tone and told me it was crap and that he didnt want me to show him any other books, he had got to page 21, so had only managed the introduction and 12 pages of chapter 1 of a book with 229 pages (300+ if you include glossary and appendix).. inside were some postit noted with notations he'd written about dates quoting from insight volumes and scripture inspired to "correct" the dates in the book for events and dates of reigns like manassahs and hezekiahs.. basically he got mad that the book disagreed with what his drone cult brain read in the wts volumes and refused to read any further.. ffs he didnt even look at another outside source at all, just assumed the book was making error after error on dates and got annoyed.. i am shocked he could be just that dumb.

  Outlaw!!! Lol. I got one of your special posts. I am honored.

  Quiet one:im afraid to bring it up again. I think i have her spidey senses tingling. I am thinking of going to the meeting tomorrow in case she was getting suspicious.

  Another sister called me last week to invite me to the meeting. She is an elders wife and used to study with me. Im wondering if my friend called her.

  Okay I am really trying not to be superstitious. Everytime I try to post something negative, I lose the post. Seriously- I have caught myself saying - well I guess Jehovah did not want me to comment.

  I had a long post ready to send and I lost it all.

  I know it is not rational.

  I did want to say that I have grown up with her. She knows my history and my issues with how the elders handled things. She knows I have struggled and had my ups and downs.

  We are taught that satan will use anything to make us stumble.

  Now that I think about it: she did a good job in deflecting the subject. I got defesive about wbere I got the info and we did t really discuss it.

  Her (looking at me with sympathy ): I know this us a tough subject for you. So does Satan ....I think he must have directed you to that news article because he knows it is your weakness. You know the demons watch and listen to the things we do and say. I never saw that article but you did. I think that is strange. Would it help to talk to an elder about your concerns?

  Me: (gulp) no ...thanks ..I'll work it out on my own.

  The funny thing is she mentioned more than once that the devil or his demon could have made that article pop up

  I must mention that I did find this site accidently while looking for the "official" WT website. I had decided to start applying the counsel from the DC . Meetings, study, bible reading, service. I would start with the daily text.

  So I went online and saw this site... didn't look bad....said it was for JWs about JWs. Didn't know where I was until I started reading a thread. Read about child abuse....struck a cord... I started eating "poisonous food".... blew off the COs visit.

  So was I directed here? If so by whom? Was it just chance that I found this site right after Iwas determined to reactivate myself?

  I was telling my JW friend about the Condi law suit. The first thing she asked was how did I even hear about it because it was news to her .( I was 't expecting that reaction. I almost looked up to check if there was a flashing sign above me saying: "VISITS APOSTATE SITES BEWARE!!!)

  ...OMG what do I say now???? She had just asked me what was up because I missed the COz visit.

  Me: er..it was on the news not too long ago. Didn't you see it? I'm sure it was on one of the online news feed.

  Her: That's funny ---I am always on the news feeds and never read about that. I don't see how you found it and I didn't. I am always checking the feeds because I have extra time at work.

  Me (still resisting the urge to look for that flashing sign, )trying to look casual: Thatis strange. But I looked her up and she did sue and won. I am upset because of the way the elders handled it . Thats the same way ther acted with me when I went to them....you know the story..

  Is it my imagination or is there more Apostasy about?

  here in the uk over the last couple of years i hear more about people leaving/being removed due to apostasy?

  do you think this is true or is it because my radar is up and listening?.

  ...i might drop in every now and then but i hope you all enjoy life, escape the watchtower(r) and live prosperous lives.. i can't say i contribute much here anyway (and i'm not attention seeking).. i'm just going to get on with life away from the constant reminder of the mistakes i made being a jw zombie drone.. i guess i'm just going to fade.......rather quickly.. of course i didn't need to make any posts here to disappear but i thought it'd be polite and very british to bid you all a fond farewell.. see you all sometime.....maybe.....maybe not.....maybe....... bye!.

  I am new and was just getting to know you. For some reason I feel really sad that you won't be around for me to read your posts. I was a little worried because you sounded really down in your recent posts. if you ever peek on this thread I just wanted to say thank you for your honesty and insight.

  I didn't realize how easy it was to start caring about people I've never met. You have impacted my life.

  Welcome back. I got to know you a little by reading

  your thread about the letter you wrote your parents 2 years ago. It was beautiful.

  You mentioned in your OP that some good things and some bad things have happened.

  Did you ever receive a reply to your letter?

  I would love to hear your story whenever you are ready to tell it.

  Becoming "unevenly yoked" ?

  i haven't been to a meeting in about a year, made up my mind about six months ago that jw's are just another religion and that its not for me.

  started dating a "worldly" girl 10 months ago and got engaged this past weekend.

  i'm having a hard time deciding who to invite to the wedding.

  .please be very sure that you do not want a future with the JWs. It is hard to be "inthe truth" and married to an unbeliever. If you are serious about being out but you dont want to be DA or DF make sure you do not get married by a minister or religious person, make sure it is in a secular place..

  Expect a visit from the elders to try to talk you out of it and to make sure you are not doing anything pagan or apostate in your wedding.
