  I love North Wales around Betws-y-coed and Snowdonia. I also like the Lake District although a little over populated for my liking. The North Yorkshire Moors are spectacular and the railway there is good too. I especially like to camp. I plan to get to Wales again, when the kids break up from school. We will just head out there and pitch up wherever and move on as we please. I love those type of holidays and am in desperate need of one. That is of course after we recover from the famous Glastonbury which is just around the corner.

  Where is your favourite place? I remember saving one of your pics quite some time ago as it was so beautiful.

  White Stripes

  so far for album of the year 2003 is the white stripes "elephant".

  using vintage instaments and laying them down on an old 8 track give this album an old school flavor.

  with the energy of the buzzcocks with an instamental sound of vintage stones

  Before You Actually Stopped Meetings, How Many HATED Being There?

  when i listen to anything at the meetings, it is with a critical eye.

  i really can't stand going, especially today.

  Why don't they get embarrased?

  Because they are so blind and arrogant. I don't even think they recognised themselves as being that way as they were usually too busy pointing the finger at somebody else.

  Remodeling the Kingdom Hall

  i always wondered why we remodeled our kh.

  there wasn't really anything wrong with it.

  i could see painting or putting in new carpet when needed.

  I was really amazed at the frivolous way that they would throw money into re-decorating, re-carpeting, re-tiling, new seats, new rostrum, new kitchen units, new roof, windows, gates, block-paving, security cameras, blinds, hoovers, and the list goes on. I would say that for the majority of these items, they were totally unnecessary.

  I actually thought it was disgraceful how they would pour scorn on those that could afford good holidays, nice cars or those that had a comfortable lifestyle and lived in a decent home.

  How hypocritical! But thats just what we should expect isn't it? Double standards as always.

  Spring 2003

  for those of you residing in the northern hemisphere, there's nothing more satisfying than the onset of spring.

  this a.m., after working a long shift at work, i arrive home after 5 a.m., and it's pleasantly mild (i live in toronto) and the sky is partly cloudy.

  the moon is no longer full, but still very bright.

  Rayzorblade, your post was really nicely written, I could almost smell the fresh air wafting into your room.

  I love spring also. I get excited about silly stuff, like planting seeds and digging borders and taking cuttings and generally spending more time outside in the garden.

  Theft of Identity from the Borg

  i had a thought for most of the ex-jws who spent most of their lives in the borg.

  for those who left the borg, has anyone stopped and think, "who am i really supposed to be apart from the borg?".

  have you ever wondered what your life would have been like if you had never been a jw?

  How pertinent I found your post to be at this particular time of my life.

  I am in the process of reconstructing the tattered remains of what I was able to salvage, after walking away from the organisation.

  The search for true self-identity however, I believe will be an ongoing process. This is something that I have happily embarked on, with some measure of success already.

  Life now for me, rather than being dreary, full of gloom and humdrum, is full of exciting potential, optimism and vibrance.

  What are your thoughts on this subject?

  Memorial anyone?

  anyone got plans to attend the memorial?.

  i am going again this year.

  not out of duty or for anyone else but for myself.

  Rebel,

  The memorial is the only meeting that I have attended in two and something years! I think I know what you mean about the falseness and hypocrisy, yet rather than making me feel sick, I rejoice inside to know that I have moved on from that.

  You asked me" why I feel the need to go". I suppose if I were to answer that in all honesty, the truth would be that...............I think that in some ways, I lost my identity whilst hiding under the guise of being a witness. Since leaving them it has been my constant goal to truly "find myself" again and in some measure that has been a success.

  I am the type of person that likes to be able to measure distances. I want to know how far I've come since I left all of that shit behind. It gives me a rewarding sensation to know that, the further away from their reality, the closer I am to mine.
