Memoral time kids...... anyone going?

i don't about you all but being raised a jehovah's witness was so ingrained in me that going to the memoral seems the right thing to do at this time of the year.

so i for one will do it for no other reason other than i was trained that way, and of course i like the song they sing its touching and i am a big sinner lord have mercey!

. It's going to feel pretty weird, but at the same time I have no desire to go.

I know what you mean. The last one I went to was in 2000. It was an odd hall that I had never even been in, and the only meeting I had been to that year. No one knew who I was and they all preyed upon me like a newly interested one. I never went back again and it doesnt feel odd at all now.

In fact it would be VERY odd now to see a hundred or so folks pass around some crackers and cheap wine while NOBODY drinks or eats it.

What Would You Say If Someone Expressed Interest In Being A JW???

if someone told you that they thought the witnesses seemed like good people and that they were thinking of having a bible study with them, would you try to persuade them not to?

would you just keep quiet, hoping they would see things for themselves?.......if you are still a witness (technically), would you subtlely or overtly tell them to run??

Like others here, I would set their facts straight, at least. You can't change a person's mind. They have to do that.

Paradise Earth

i'm new here (not a baptized jw) and was just wondering about those in here who are against the jws.

does it mean you no longer wish to live in the kingdom that jesus christ preached about -- the paradise earth conditions before adam and eve sinned?.

... does it mean you all now believe what christendom teaches about the future -- heaven & hell?

false accusations

false accusations hurt.

false accusations do damage.

false accusations are more than just silly, they are ugly and malicious.

Yeah. Some sister said I was making evil phone calls to her. She was some crazy shut in who was afraid to go get her own groceries, let alone go to the meetings very often. This was an absolute lie. Still I was brought in for a meeting.

How did I handle it? I told them I didn't do it and that I was insulted to even be there. They basicalyl said they realized the accusation was false but they were "only following theocratic order" by sorting the mess out. The matter ended then and there, but they never did anything to the crazy woman. That's fine with me.

Because I know that Jehovahis a doer, not just a talker. Vengeance is mine. We must strive to be godly.

So in my godlike way I handled matters. Knowing the woman to be paranoid and borderline psychotic, as well as being obsessive about her garden I took care to plant Kudzu in her yard. (This is the South). In addition to spray-painting her dog and throwng pebbles on her window at odd hours of the night, I felt truly refreshed in my ministry. She still stays at home and has put on a great deal of weight from what I hear.

Never made a single prank phone call.

ok, Truthy. But your money where your mouth is. I'll bet you $1000 that there is no armageddon by next year. Hell I'll give you a ten year spread. You can even cheat and pray to the Invisible Man to make the day or Burning Anger and Jealousy (God.. what a God!) come sooner, if you like. But don't welsh on me.
