need help!!
by foxy lady inhaving a "arguement" with my mum.
i need please the quotes from jw books etc that state about the age of people when 1914 occurred.
i seem to remember that they started off by saying that an adult was a "generation" then a teenager then finally a baby and when it did not come they abolished that "thought".. .

I find the Libertarian Party is interesting in that it has a test which basically is guaranteed to ward off non-liberatarian voters. I can't call that a push-pole. For instance, I consider myself liberian about some issues, but ultimately not many. I couldnt walk the party line, ever. (I favor protective tarrifs, and immigration control, for starters). The LP calls itself and I think that's a pretty honest assessment. I would vote for a Libertarian (and have), depending on the candidate.
One thing I do think is a little flawed is that they choose two minor parties (Libs and Greens) out of a field of many third parties. Might as well allow some of the other big ones like Natural Law, Socialist Worker, Green-Nazi (LSGP), Reform into the survey.

I'm pretty much Natural-Law party. But I vote on the issues, not on the candidates.
though for what its worth:
You preferred the Democratic stance for 1 issue. Democratic Platform
You preferred the Green stance for 5 issues. Green Platform
You preferred the Libertarian stance for 0 issues. Libertarian Platform.
You preferred the Republican stance for 1 issue. Republican Platform.

Passing the time at JW Assemblies
by Leolaia inlove_truth, in describing the utter dullness of jw assemblies and conventions, just gave me an interesting idea for a thread.
what were some of the ways you tried to make the hours pass?
some of mine: looking at the interesting refracting patterns the arena floodlights made on my eyeglasses when looking thru them at an angle.looking for people i knew from my congregation and others in the mass of people in the arena.counting the number of people leaving the section to go to the bathroompractice writing people's names in elvish scripthaving a conversation with friends a row behind me by passing notes back and forthseeing how many pages of my bible stick together when i slam a wad of gum in between its pages.. what else?

after the convention one night, a few hundred dubbies were staying at the local hyatt, which had a full atrium inside open space to the twelth floor. Someone started playing the grand piano, and before long dozens of dubs were singing kingdom songs in the middle of the hyatt. Me and my friend were kids, and of course, hated it, so we made a bunch of wet clumps of toilet paper, went to the twelth floor, and beaned as many dubs as we could before sneaking off, which was hard to do what with the glass elevators and all.

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub
by new light inremember all the cleaning we would be "asked" to do?
pre-convention, mid-convention, post-convention, kingdumb hall, field service car, assembly hall, the list seems endless.
what better way to cap off a day of mind-numbing sermons and interviews than by mopping a filthy arena in your best suit?

Political Party Loyalty
by Greenpalmtreestillmine ini am very new to the political process and this year will be the first time i enter a voting booth, but something has been on my mind of late and i hope you all can help me sort it out.. if george bush had been a democrat and from day one of his presidency had done everything exactly as he has done would most of the republicans be supporting the war in iraq?
would most of the democrats still be against the war?.
or would each party fall in line with most republicans against the war and most democrats for the war?.

Just vote for who you think is the best candidate, even if its a third party or independant. Much better feeling then the Republicratand the Demobilcan machines.

I think the "Passion" is a well done two hour hardcore BDSM flick. I'm not into that, so it had only negative effects for me. I prefer my gory movies to have Jason or Freddy Kreuger in them. But it was well done, daring, and the Aramaic and street Latin were the only good parts (well, the humour of Jesus inventing the dining table was nice.. could have had a lot more of that and a lot less of whips, chains, and demonic babies).
Does that make me an elitist liberal?
Gita.. (waiting for "the comPassion of Amitaba" to get filmed)
