now that i've found out ttatt i've been indulging in a lot of so called "spiritistic" entertainment lol.
i recently watched all of the lotr/hobitt movies and man were they awesome!!!
who knew spiritism could be so much fun lol.

Harry Potter is just such a masterpiece of a story.

I loved fantasy literature and movies since early childhood. Even being a jw I loved Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. I know many JWs and also elders who read and watched it.

if only there were more people with guns perhaps some lives would have been saved.. it's a sad state of affairs here in the us when enough people aren't armed when there is an attack.. if someone simply had a gun or was wearing a suicide vest to take the perpetrators out, other lives could have been saved.. rub a dub .

i dressed up in a hoodie, double layer so that the cameras at the kingdom hall couldn't recognize me.
i looked in the mirror up and down so i knew that the cameras, at least at the angle that i knew couldn't see my face.
i took this disassociation letter, stuck it in the envelope, labeled it, "(congregation's name...boe" by hand and sealed it.

i acknowledge that he is entitled to his opionin just as we are ours but i am disappointed in some of his comments.. at this stage i'll try to be objective about it.
he is defending his own position after all.. what bothers me most is his comments about athiests and christians which he seems to identify as being in conflict with each other.
I am so happy, that I am an ex jw and that I am able to freely live according to my conscience.
I cherish my own spirituality but I would never go and say my views and feelings are the "truth."
Sadly some ex jws (christian AND atheistic) are still trapped in this JW thinking that their view is the truth.
I think the most important is to respect each other. Healthy debating is good, but some tend to attack the other views in a way that doesn't show respect.
I like cedars blog very much. And I like that he is respectful of different views.
Even if he writes about agnosticism or atheism I am sure he will do that in a respectful way.
If we ex jws are not respectful, this is not helping any JWs to wake up.

I am a native german speaker.
It is a clear sentence, translated well and contains no mistake at all.
I find the meaning of this picture and sentence very questionable.
It puts a lot of pressure and guilt to JW schoolkids.
a new montra that was recently adopted by the wife and i is this:.
dont give them more power than they deserve.. here's why i say that, and i point this to those of you still in the congregation, still trying to decide what you want to do.. recently, our family had a little family reunion gathering of sorts, and we were in the company of some extended family that were either df or da, to varying degrees.
we made it very clear, to any and all in attendance, that we wanted to be respectful and kind, despite any previous perceptions about our "status".... and that our feelings on a lot of things had "softened", and "changed" over the last 2 years.. i am being purposefully slightly vague, but i think you get the point.

i am not sure if it's true but i heard from a good source that wt has given instructions to elders to postponed disfellowshipping members from wrong doing/gross sin until further instructions given by headquarters.
i heard some jws were just reproved either privately or publically.
has anyone else heard anything like this recently?
Tomorrow it will be announced that i am "no longer a Jehovah's witness."
So I am disfellowshipped for the "gross sin" of listening to my conscience instead of a mind controlling organisation.
So I didn't feel anything of that rumour. I felt however that they are very much afraid of "independent thinking."
it's true, leaving the organization does not mean you leave god.
as someone who was raised in the "truth" i always heard the messaging that if you leave the organization you leave god and lose his protection.
after disassociating myself, i even believed that and began on a path of self-destructive behaviour as i was leaving behind every relationship i had ever known and very ill equipped to live in the "real world" growing up, i always felt there was a higher power and our purpose was more than living a few decades.
I wish you a lot of joy on your life and personal relationship with god.
Being out of the WT mind control I also have a deeper personal relationship with god.
However I would never call my views "the truth."
With difference to your understanding I don't believe that the bible is god's word and I don't believe in the picture the paints about god.
