New Article on BEARDS and Attire of Jehovah's Witnesses
by jwfacts ini have had requests to add an article about beards and jehovah's witnesses.
it is interesting that there is virtually no statement that says a witness cannot have a beard, yet universally they do not have beards.
i have scoured quotes from all the threads on jwn, all references to beard on the cd watchtower library, and copies of elders letters that i have.

Yes... the 1968 QFR marked the endpoint... but the 1954 QFR did NOT mark the beginning.... The beardless Jesus had been appearing way before that... that's my point...

If you have the previous books, look up the pictures from 1938 to 1968... 1938 was the first year, and 1968 the last, where Adam has no beard...
1943 The Truth Shall Set you Free has Jesus without a beard... and many others...
The QFR is from 1954 and shows that there was already a pattern of WT literature showing Jesus without a beard...

In reviewing the literature, I will venture to say that the anti-beard stance was from 1938 to 1968. Every single book from those years has Adam and many other Bible characters without a beard... and then the article in 1968 appeared, and, suddenly, the books had the same Bible characters WITH beard...

I just noticed that the Divine Plan of the Ages that I have is slightly different than two versions that are in the archive.org....
The Chart of the Ages is different than from the 1913 version, and the other version is just text and is missing the end part... Not all pdf's of the books are made the same!!
I also noticed that my Finished Mystery is different than the one online... it does have the pages that got Rutherford in jail, but it doesn't have as many pictures as the version that is online...
I think that the Russell era books had dozens of different versions...

I have quite a few 1950's booklets, and a lot of them can't be found on archive.org or other websites, that I know. Would the community like them digitized? Some of them can serve for no other purpose than to show, for example, that Jesus did not have a beard in the 1950's publications.

The Harp of God - 1928 - 3,960,000 Edition - this one can be used to prove that even after 1919, we still proclaimed that the last days started in 1799, the parousia was in 1874, the enthronement in 1878...
If you want hard, solid proof that the chronology wasn't changed even at this date, this is the book to get!!

THERE IS NO FACSIMILE SCAN OF THIS ONE AT ARCHIVE.ORG!! Just the text. I personally prefer facsimiles to "prove" something.
