I am really sorry for what you are going through. It's so disgusting what this cult does to people.

JW renaming things: "It's Not this, it's ....."
by Muddy Waters inthis was brought up in another thread, but i thought it should have its own thread.
feel free to add your own observations and experience.
the jws are so duplicit, and they rename things to somehow justify their own irrationalities.

It's not one generation that make up a generation, but several overlapping generations that make up a generation.
It's not using the rank and file for free labor, but giving them the "privledge" to clean tiolets, windows, mow lawn, plant flowers, paint, participate in building projects etc.
It's not cruel to disfellowship, but loving discipline from Jehovah.

watching her gasp for air, struggle to breath.

JW Parents and kicking out their children
by NJ501 inis it a common practice for jw parents to kick their children out of the home, if the child doesn't want to be a jw.
(even though their not disfellowshipped they will still get kicked out for not going to meetings etc.??).
do other religions encourage kicking family members out this as well?

I agree, it depends on the parents and how much they care about how they look to other JWs. Many JW parents require their children to continue meeting attendence while living under their roof.
I've even heard of body of elders telling a brother that his adult daughter should move out since she no longer wanted to be a JW. The brother took a stand and said he was not going to see his daughter out on the streets. They couldn't do anything about but I'm sure other Jw's would've gave in to that pressure.
Yes, it is very conditional, even if the parents don't think it is.

Question for those who went to the RC
by joe134cd ini'm just curious with all the happy clapping that is now going on with the singing at the conventions.
what has been the reaction to it with the r&f.
has anyone ever commented that it reminded them of a pentecostal revival meeting.

This didn't happen at our convention. But there were many up beat videos shown on the monitors, which get the crowd a little bouncier and happier. so I dont think the majority have a problem since it's seems to be the direction the society is going and it feels good to the average r/f.
At one point, my husband said, they are loosening up. I jokingly replied, I know, we even have a choir (that's exactly how they looked on the big screen) now. He gave a quick laugh, then said, that's not a choir. I said, I know, I'm just kidding.
Edited to add a picture similar to some of the video they showed at the convention but I got a couple of side eyes when I jokingly said we now have a choir, lol

Hello
by Jules Saturn inhello, i've been lurking for quite some time here on this forum, reading a whole lot and i've finally made the courage to create an account as a form of escape and in hopes to be understood and not feel "mentally diseased".
little background on me, i am a born in but i consider myself a pimo (physically in mentally out).
i feel like i've always had doubts but these doubts would sink with the meetings and the assemblies and every other little thing that drowns any doubts a witness may have.

Some Good News About Me (Although Anthony Morris Will Be Furious)
by pale.emperor injust wanted to share with you some good news i'm really excited about.
i have been accepted for university to study psychology and counseling.
my goal is to become a counselor and, in time, to specialize on treating those who have left high control relationships/groups like we all did.. it'll take a few years before im qualified but studying in university has been a dream of mine since i was 12, which was systematically dashed to pieces by watchtower.. .

Congratulations to both of you!! You have a fighter...good for her. My sister was 2 1/2 lbs at birth, she is 51 years old now. She was a fighter at birth and still is to this day. It's just part of her make up and personality.
Glad to hear Izzy is resting well, that way her body can continue to grow and get stronger.
Wishing you all the best!! Take care!
