this is a question for ex jw's who have joined another christian faith group.
the purpose of my question iis to find out which christian faith group you chose after leaving watchtower and what convinced you to travel this new spiritual path you are on.
i am interested to know because i personally would like to find a genuine faith group where i can feel true christian liberty as i initially thought i had with the witnesses.
Why do people join a Christian denomination in the first place, to help them
get through life perils, not an easy road. I was raised in the Baptist church became
a JW age 21, left JW age 40 and back to Baptist. Between 45-50 years of age I began
to read the Bible, Wow.
I don't know if there was a connection with my anxiety problems (really bad), but my life
without following a bunch of religious rules have been great.
Some believe Humanism is a religion for atheists/agnosticism, maybe.
But I know for a fact I am a better person today and life is easy.
I am the black sheep of the family, JW family are praying for my return, the other christians
family members are praying for my soul. I don't preach my belief, they are the ones that is
so dogmatic about my (like) of happiness. LOL
how would it be possible in 1,000 years to resurrect and educate the billions now in the grave?.
nevertheless, an illustration reveals what a simple, practical thing jehovah has in mind for mankind.
not to prophesy, but merely for the purpose of illustration, let us assume that those who compose the great crowd of righteous persons who come out of the great tribulation on this system of things alive (re 7:9, 14) number about 6,000,000 (about 1/1000 of earths present population).
I'm resurrected and the first person I meet, a JW elder in suit and tie. He tells me,
james you must shave and a hair cut. We have five meetings a week and you must attend
and here is a list for our Kingdom songs. We have a special class for you new arrivals
the subjects, "Don't be mislead by your sexual desires", and "A thousand years without sex".
Now go have fun my son.
so i was hoping to get some insight on this subject of telling your spouse that you no longer believe in god.
for two people who have been jehovahs witnesses for 20 years together, talking about this seems to be real hard for me.
i still pray with my wife before meals but that's about it.
1) The consistent replacement of supernatural explanation of the world with natural ones.
2) The inconsistency of world religions.
3) The weakness of religions argument, explanation and apologetics.
4) The increasing diminishment of God.
5) The fact that religions runs in families.
6)) The complete failure of any sort of supernatural phenomena to stand up
to rigorous testing. (having faith don't cut the mustard, not today).
7) The slipperiness of religious and spiritual belief, especially JW.
8) The failure of religion to improve or clarity after 2000 years.

having looked over the february' 2016 wt study article ' learn from jehovah's loyal servants' and meditating on the 'advice' from the fds aka gb regarding the shunning of our own close relatives if they have been disfellowshipped.
the example in par 7 highlighting how a woman called anne shuns her own mother for 'as she says' cutting herself off from jehovah.
i can't help but wonder how audacious and wreckless watchtower is in writing this stuff.
How many new members would they get if they told every study from the start
if you become a JW and you decided it's not for you, kiss your family and friends good by.
We have a very strict policy to keep people in line, we are not a cult but we do have some
cult ways. So you must understand the rules if you decide to leave, you will be dead to your
children, your mother and father. How does that sound and when will you be ready to be
baptized in Jehovahs loving organization. And by the way, we believe in demons and evil spirits
that work through Disney movies.
not all are jw's here, think about the time you could get.
i know you are checking.
don't be shy, no one will ever know.
I know there is a elder out there, sitting in your den, shades closed, the wife asleep and
you are on line. I know you would love to punch me in the mouth. We are lying to folks
here, speaking garbage. We are folks that couldn't live up to Jehovah's standards, we are
independent thinkers. I don't know if the policy have changed but there was a time when
Elders could talk to DF ones. I was told by my Elder brother I need to come to the meetings
so that Jehovah will shower me with his knowledge and free me from Satan. Well I have a surprise
for you, there are those sitting next to you at every meeting, fellow elder who think it's all BS.
Now if you are viewing something on the net that may get you in trouble (nudity), well I may
understand you are only human but when you are finish give us a shout.
OK folks this is my last try to communicate with the other side. I hear birds tweeting.

Bosai, Thanks. No comments anyone. "It has the ring of truth", didn't people in WW2 say
that about Hitler? They are imperfect but the problem they are 99% wrong on most things and
I have never heard them apologize for any thing.
But thanks for standing in and giving us a idea how it would go if we were having a discussion with
a die heart JW. LOL
rebelfighter: You heart rate would go sky high in a discussion with those people.
just wondering about witness weddings and what is and isn't acceptable these days.
i know that toasts are a no-no, but i'm wondering about other things, such as:.
is it ok to have a best man?.
There will be no jumping over the broom.
