  Where are you going when you die?

  a questions that has been on my mind for 20+ years that i have been away.. and more recently - a friend of my sons was killed.

  he ask me "mom where are you going when you die?

  " i am worried because if you die, i don't know where you are going.

  Sorry to hear of the sad news!!!!! I'm sure your son needs to know that he feels safe in THIS world, especially now. He is old enough that he must be realizing how fragile life is right now.

  As far as where we go when we die, I thought one of the scientifically proven things, (Einstein I think) is that energy never truly dies, only gets transferred. I'm not highly educated myself but it would seem to me that some part of our energy must carry on. I can't say if it is a re-incarnation type thing or our soul going somewhere else, but I think that how we act in this present form has some sort of bearing on where we go next.

  To me, even a hardened criminal, when they realize the error of their ways, believe that they are in a better spot when they are doing good things. The fact that everybody on earth seems to believe that they should at least try to be GOOD, must mean that it has something to do with where we go in our next calling.

  JT,

  I like your comment regarding how they view God. My own personal opinion is that most ORGANIZED religions do this to a certain extent. JW's are way up near the top in the degree to which they celebrate the evil atrocities of their God (past and present), but most religions also do.

  I 'm not against people needing to look to a higher power for guidance to help them through life, but when it involves hate and even the love of pain (emotional or physical), these people truly are living very shallow lives spiritually. It is frustrating, for sure to be shunned by my family, but I also feel for their evident lack of a deeper understanding of what spirituality is all about.

  For anybody living in Canada, (who are aware that tonight's Super 7 jackpot is $25,000,000), reading proplog's predictions remind me of the commercials for Super 7, where the guy imitates the ING commercial guy and in the one commercial says, "What did I even say? I DON'T KNOW!!!"

  I don't mean to offend you proplog, but I really have to agree with Craig here. It's great to keep your mind active but what did you really say? YOU DON'T KNOW!!! Spend your time for awile realizing how much you don't know. It's a great distraction.

  Being Devout

  do you think that the younger generation of witnesses are just as devout as the older ones in the congregation?

  and do you think that the witnesses in general are just as devout today as they were 10 or 20 years ago?

  I don't think that they are as devout. I would say that they are just as close-minded for sure. Probably even more so. The reason I say this is that they are having more and more of their own religion's blasphemy put in front of their face, and, of course, to the vast majority it is still AUTOMATICALLY the truth, thus causing them to have to close their minds off even more.

  May they eventually become more enlightened an actually feel free some day.

  I grew up in Timmins, Ontario, where she spent most of her youth. I never actually met her, but her sister, Carrie was a very good friend of my sister and the same age. I knew her brother, who was threee years younger than me, but he had the type of personality that within a few weeks of being in grade 9 everybody in the school knew him. He is VERY outgoing.

  Unfortunately, when he was in grade 10 his parents were killed in a car accident, and he got into a bit of trouble with the law afterwards. Shania moved back from Huntsville, where she was singing in a lodge there, and raised her brothers and sister till they were all out of school. Very noble of her. All of her family have a very high energy and caring personality about them.

  And DAMN she is VERY gorgeous.

  Need Help and Advise

  i have an ex jw friend who has been out for about 3 years now, and has since been going to every memorial just to keep her family happy.

  she is baptised, and so far has sucessfully done the fade, though she has never actually told her parents that she wants no part of the org.

  now the memorial is coming up and her family expects her to go.

  In my humble opinion, she should avoid being df'd at all costs, unless she is going against her conscience in doing so. The conscience is one of those things you understand fully only AFTER you have left the religion of JW's.

  As far as going to the memorial, she shouldn't be hypocritical. If she believes that it isn't God's religion, then she shouldn't go....... contrary to what JW's teach, God KNOWS the heart, the men in Brooklyn and all of their followers don't.

  I RENOUNCE MY ASSOCIATION WITH JWS

  it is my pleasure to announce i have terminated my membership of the jehovahs wittnesses.

  i shall be formally making this statement known to my congregation at tomorrow nights meeting after i have taken the ministry school.

  for many years i have developed my own thoughts on religion and this along with the information i have learned here and on other sites has convinced me that i can no longer live teaching the bollocks the wtbs.

  Realness....... I can only give you advice based on my and my friends' experiences. Don't go out with a bang or a big announcement. Take all of the energy you have (about leaving) and redirect it into how great you can become outside. If you are being truly honest about what you are saying, you will be able to remember the people who have been shunned by the org. and realize that you don't want to be there. The people in this forum are caring for YOU as an individual, not as a member of a religion or group.

  And yes, I am an ex-JW, df'd in 1991, vowing never to go back in 1994.
