in a debate i'm having in a forum, i am discussing the subject of fractions of blood and the watchtower's position with respect to acceptance of some fractions while refusing others.. .
in that debate i mentioned that hemoglobin accepted by the watchtower as a matter of conscience is in fact most of the red blood cell (think about 97%) and the other 3% is the membrane lining the red cell.. .
am i correct in this view?
Yes hemoglobin is the entire contents of a mature red blood cell.

couple of thoughts..... - i know they aren't in it for the money, but not a single member of the gb was wearing less than a $700 fitted suit.
might have been more expensive and tailored, couldn't tell.

sorry if this isn't the right place to post this - brand new member here.. i recently caught up with an old friend who is a jw.
she's been witnessing to me, and i've accepted all her handouts because i don't want to hurt her feelings.
but now she's asking me for my "thoughts" about what i've read so far.
I find using examples from other religions is always a good starting point. I made a video a little while back about if a follower of Harold Camping ever discussed beliefs with a Jehovah's Witness, I'm sure you can figure out how to turn this into a conversation with your friend. Just make sure they're agreeing with you as you go.
"Have you watched the news about Harold Camping... wouldn't you agree he's a false prophet? And the way he just changed his story at the last minute after his prediction proved false to it happening invisilby, could you ever believe someone who did that? Isn't that the same thing the JWs did in 1914? I'm having trouble understanding why it's OK for JWs but not for Camping to do the same thing?"

my co-worker is a vegan and jw constantly talks about how healthy she is...blah, blah, blah....all day long and she's getting on my last nerve.
she's always posting how meat is murder on facebook and how all meat eaters are sooo uneducated.
funny since she dropped out of home schooling and never recieved her ged.
Either way it's all argument via selective observation. Pretty much every sort of diet fad ignores vast amount of data in order to push their viewpoint. The fact is Humans are designed to consume pretty much everything in it's path and some people have a higher metabolism than others. It's just somewhat the way it is, eat what makes you feel good. You could go on a totally vegan diet and constantly feel tired. I was a vegetarian to lose weight and found I wasn't losing as much as I thought, then I added meat 2 times a week and I started losing faster. It is what it is I guess.
I would probably tell her to watch the movie Fathead and see what she says about the statistics.

One problem with JWs is, when discussing their beliefs alot of times you have to show them what they believe and why it's wrong and they won't believe you about either of them.

I thought your video was very good and got the point across but I don't know if many jdubs will get it.
I was hoping having the JW pot answering with the same exact responses just replacing a couple of words and dates as the Camping Kettle would get the point across fairly well. Then again there is a blinder effect for some people.
Everyone seems to be fans of Van Halen as well which is pretty cool, I wasn't expecting anyone to think the music really enhanced anything.

So I guess the jury is out on whether or not they wore the white robes and were on the Brooklyn Bridge. It sounds to me that Russell is playing a bit of devil's advocate, like the whole 1975 fiasco. "We didn't really, technically, for-sure tell people the end was in 1975. Some of the more radical ones certainly believed it"
