And so goes the circle of life.
Just like God designed it.
i have fed a number of birds regularly thru winter, and among the species were some doves.
this spring, two of them took a liking for each other and teamed up.
for a couple of weeks, extensive construction work was jointly done and resulted in a nice little nest, undoubtedly a cosy home for the small family which expected to multiply.
And so goes the circle of life.
Just like God designed it.
she and my dad brought us to the u.s. from ireland in hopes of giving the 4 of us kids a better life with more opportunities.. mom went to school in her village where her mother (my grandmother) was the teacher and the bible was part of the curriculum.
they even used the name jehovah.
her father was a plymouth brethern (think amish or quaker) who was shunned for the rest of his life for marrying my grandmother who wasn't "in the lord"...she belonged to church of ireland.. when the witnesses came to the door after we arrived in the u.s, mom was a shoe-in candidate for their recruitment.
That's a great tribute to mom and dad. Sorry you're feeling down.
"Keep your pecker up!"
Friendships require something in common. There's nothing back there for me to pursue.
This little guy, who looks incredibly like Humpty-Dumpty, seems to be carrying on an intelligent conversation and making an interesting point or two, then suddenly we're in outer space.
Your friend would make a wonderful Jehovah's Witness. You should offer him a bible study.
rutherford began the millions campaign in 1918. new light suggests that he was obviously talking about babies who were born that year and now, in 2014 they would only be 96 years old.. .
i was looking through a census bureau report on people aged 90+ in the united states 2006-2008, with projections to the year 2050. according to the chart provided there are about 2 million people just in the united states that are over 90 years old.
we could conservatively cut that number in half to reach the 96 year-olds and then add in the rest of the world's figures.. .

By God, Rutherford really DID know what he was talking about. Since this old system couldn't possibly last another year, millions then living in 1918 will never die - just like old Joe prophesied!
this new donation arrangement under the pretense that so many new halls are needed to accommodate the worldwide increase has me wondering.
the numbers in the current annual reports don't show anywhere near the increase as there was leading up to the 1975 debacle.
so how did the gb of the time handle a genuine need for more kingdom halls?.
Still Totally ADD: It was not in the cards to build new Kingdom Halls. After all the big A was coming, why do we need to build anything?
That makes sense. And all the tales of makeshift, leased housing for congregants fits the puzzle.
Thanks for all the responses.
Vidiot: They don't need "so many new halls", and in fact, the letter doesn't actually say that; it simply says the WTS needs money for thousands of "Kingdom Hall projects".
Slick.
this is how a do explained the family business policy re relatives of df/da members.. he said that the expression, "necessary family business," is really not a scriptural term.
it is nowhere found in the bible.
but, out of the kindness of the gb's hearts, they have gone beyond what is written and allowed association among families for necessary business.
How is it decided when Jehovah is ok with acting out of the "kindness of their heart" versus sticking to the scriptures?
Wasn't Uzzah struck down for trying to steady the Ark out of the kindness of his heart versus sticking to his instructions?

For that matter, was there a great Kingdom Hall sell-off after [how many?] left after the failure of 1975?

For the generation that was old enough to understand the events of 1975, was there any special request for additional donations to handle the increase?
