"I don't care I don't have children".
Good lord.
is religion doing enough to root out abuse?.
he would go upstairs, on the premise that he was saying a prayer with his niece, then sexually abuse her.
mark sewell was sentenced to 14 years in prisonafterwards, the elders told her that as it was only her account against that of sewell, nothing more could be done.
"I don't care I don't have children".
Good lord.

All you need are tight pants and pink socks. They'll back off.

“Individuals are free to leave as they wish,” Fenton says. “They are not disfellowshipped or shunned simply because they no longer wish to associate with Jehovah’s Witnesses.”
What goes through the mind of an active JW when he/she reads this line? How do you absorb that sentence and then go on shunning according to established corporate policy?
so the other day i was walking through the huge local regional outlet shopping mall.
i see this sign "how do deal with anxiety" didn't take very long at all to confirm it was a jw booth.. that sign bothered me.
do jw actually think they have something to say about anxiety?
i hope everyone is having a good saturday.
i've visited this many times in the past month or so, joined yesterday and finally got the nerve to post!
needless to say, i'm super nervous, being new to this whole experience.
Welcome MarieK.
I remember when I first started lurking on this site I felt like I was doing something dirty - exposing all my purity and righteousness to the rantings of filthy apostates.
"... but wait. They're making sense!"
And now I R one.
tonight gorby and his wife watched a part of the 2015 may edition of jw broadcasting.
we couldn't force our self to watch the full stuff, because of it's sneaky way of production.
first of course the dynasty melody at the start, the world map background and the car salesman mr. lett.
The GB guys are really disconnected from the realities of everyday life; jobs, kids, bills...
They sit up there in their tower completely supported by 8 million people, make financial decisions based on.... what?... and then ask for more money as they see fit. If there really was a vast increase they say there is, wouldn't it follow that the money would increase in tandem? Or do they acknowledge the increase is only coming from poorer, 3rd world nations?
The ease with which they keep asking for money just shows how utterly out of touch they really are.
i was considering getting another copy of one of ray's books and was shocked about the market value.
is ray's book worth $1,000?
perhaps, but it is a bit shocking.
I like having a hard copy of a book so I can take it to bed with me. I don't like reading for extended periods at the computer. So I bought the PDF version of the book and then printed it out at home. Got a binder for it and the whole project cost me about $25.
The one mistake I made was using my old inkjet printer. For some of the photo copy items in the book, the quality made it difficult to read. If you don't have a laser printer at home I recommend you take it to a Staples or Office Max or some such.
i mean e cigs and vaping.
not even tobacco inhaling but inhaling other stuff like herbs etc.
is this allowed?
public perception a problem for jws.

a christian apologist says christians should use discernment when dealing with jehovah's witnesses, who have recently launched a massive worldwide proselytization campaign.. throughout this summer and continuing through january 2016, jehovah's witnesses are holding thousands of "imitate jesus!
Yea, that approach is easily dismantled by even a casual observer. How much quicker and easier to demolish that kind of reasoning inside the indoctrinated mind of a JW.
But I suppose the warning was directed toward non-JW Christians. Well, if it works, great! The reasoning doesn't really have to make sense... it only has to feel tingly.
saw this in the paper today:.
the jehovah's witnesses church in australia is the latest religious group to come to the attention of the royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse.. the child sex abuse royal commission will hold a public hearing into controversial christian group the jehovah's witnesses, next month.. the inquiry, to be held in sydney, will hear from people who were allegedly sexually abused within the jehovah's witnesses church in australia.. it will examine how the jehovah's witnesses church and its company, the watchtower bible and tract society of australia, responded to claims of child sexual abuse within the organisation.. a victorian inquiry into how churches handle child sex abuse claims has previously taken submissions from former jehovah's witnesses who alleged instances of paedophilia, sexual assault, blackmail and death threats.. the organisation has 64,000 active "disciples" in australia but has also been described as a cult.. jehovah's witnesses believe their church is the one true religion and all others are wrong.
they are among a number of religious groups which have been examined by the royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse including the catholics, anglicans, australian christian churches and the salvation army.. the jehovah's witnesses australian headquarters has been contacted for comment about the inquiry which is scheduled to begin on july 27.. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/nsw/jehovahs-witnesses-to-appear-before-sex-abuse-royal-commission-20150622-ghue73.html.
We'll need to resurrect this thread toward the end of July to remind everyone.
For those of us in the United States there is about a 10 hour time difference. Might be able to watch some of the hearing with my morning coffee.
