  using only scriptural proof, show me why you believe that the wtbts/ccojw is god's choice and i'll tell you if i agree with your scriptural reasoning.".

  wait for the silence and the rabbit in the headlights moment.. i searched on the wt cd rom for references of "channel of communication.".

  The governing body has stated THEMSELVES that it is not necessary for them to identify who IS or who IS NOT a member of the 144,000 (which is a requirement for being a member of the "faithful slave". The governing body has stated that many people who think they are members of the 144,000 may be emotionally disturbed.

  I would ask anyone, especially the governing body member ( who MAY or MAY NOT be emotionally disturbed) why "They bind up heavy loads [of identification] and put them on the shoulders of men, but they themselves are not willing to budge them with their finger."

  Confession Time - Music You're Embarrassed to Admit Listening To

  admit it, we all have things that we reel off when people ask what our favourite music is, just the same as if people ask what our favourite movies are.

  we're meant to say "citizen kane" and "casablanca" and not "battleship" or "pacific rim" but we know what we're going to watch if they are ever on tv at the same time (and which ones we've never actually seen).. so how about some confession time?

  When I was still brain scrubbed... I loved playing the Kingdom Melodies on Sunday morning as I got ready for meeting. It helped get my spiritusistic juices flowing. I was convinced is drew me closer to Jehovah on this special day of worship.

  I finally did it

  it's done.. during the last month i've been talking with my closest friends about leaving the org and yesterday i finally talked with my parents.. it's been almost 5 months after i said that i would do it, but i think that this extra time has been beneficial.

  i've said several times that i would opt for sending a resignation letter, but after talking to my best friends some of them suggested me becoming inactive and blocking my congregation's elders.

  i've changed my mind and i will do that because the people that i care the most now know what's going on so they won't be worrying about me not attending the meetings.

  I N-E-V-E-R heard of this problem. Not even a whisper. No, child molestations in religious settings only happened in Satan's churches. I know the organization itself would never speak of it, but surely victims did. How did we not hear of it? Was I particularly naive and insulated? Was it not being reported by the news? How? Surely some of those cases were reported to police.

  How did the JW problem not come out at the same time as the Catholic scandal in the 90's... at the very least?

  Up to the moment I rejected the Watchtower cult, I would have been one of it's most ardent defenders, demanding that all this pedophile/child abuse talk was apostate-driven propaganda. Don't expect rank and file JWs to use common sense. They can't.... and neither could when I was in.
