I remember sitting at home on my one day off ; my father phoned me to tell me to switch the TV on. By this time, the first plane had already smashed into the building. I stayed glued to the screen for hours and watched the whole thing, so sad.
That night, I had decided not to go to the meeting but after the attacks, I needed to change my mind.... these were exciting times.... could this be the start of something big ?!?!
I discarded whatever people were saying.. every witness was blabbering on about how it was the start of the great T. About a year later, I had left.
Its a shame ; the whole world stands for September 11 ; but nobody remembers the terrorist attacks made by America on many different countries over the years.
However, I salute the heroes of September 11, and pay utmost respect to the dead.

Will the Internet bring down the watchtower Bible and Tract Society
by frankiespeakin inin the united states i keep hearing about how nobody sees the witness is going door-to-door and more, or at least not as often as they used to.
i also heard a report from england recently which stated to the same effect.. what do you think?
do you think the internet is the watchtower society's worst nightmare?.

Sorry that I was late replying...
I think that the internet IS causing a massive slowdown for the Watchtower ! They are so scared Frankie, we have the power of information at our fingertips !
JW growth has slowed right down in developed countres... in places such as France, Britain, Japan the WT has lost so many converts because more and more people are beginning to see the truth behind 'the truth'. Apparently, Japan has lost of 500 congregations !
There is a great pattern appearing though; in those countries that the internet is readilly available, many people are falling away. I know that I certainly did ! Without the internet, I would still be a loyal good old JW now. Well, ok, maybe loyal but certainly not good
Unfortunately, there has been an increase in some lands; lands without ready access to the internet. But God bless the internet and the information age ! People are beginning to think for themselves, and rightly so !

New here, got a question
by kj ini just wanted to let you know how much i have enjoyed reading your posts.
i am not and have never been a jw, but my husband and i both have a lot of family who are.
my mother was sucked into it in 1999. i have a question, is it true that jws are forbidden to set foot in any church other than the kingdom hall?
