  for more than a decade, frederic dumoulin has worked in the field of pharmaceutical research ... studied the effects of medications and toxins on living creatures ... such design simply could not have evolved.

  The watchtower is right?
  
  The organisation has I believe around 8 million baptised members assuming they all belive in God that is.
  
  As of 2005, approximately 88 percent of the world's population were said to " believe in God " (Cambridge University) That's 6,282,320,000 people that already believe this with no help from the watchtower. That's six and a quarter billion people. The vast majority of all humans on planet earth!.
  
  I'm afraid the watchtower though they may like you to believe otherwise does not have a monopoly on faith.
  
  They did not invent God.

  Should I meet with the elders?

  so i posted my story somewhere on this board but long story short i have been expressing my doubts to my mom who is a jw.

  i have been fading since december 2013 and went to a sunday meeting for the first time maybe two weeks ago.

  i went only because i wanted to use the library that my hall has which had books published by the society from the early 1900's.

  I'm not so sure it's a trap. I did the same thing with the 2 main elders in the congregation. I showed them all the old and not so old literature with the fallacies that were taught as truth at the time and they had no choice to admit it was all true.
  
  They had no answers at all for any of it. They were checkmated. All they could say was to contact the society and see what they had to say about it. The society too had nothing to say. That's when I walked and quit. Nothing ever came of it.
  
  I don't know why people feel a need to run, hide and flee or feel they have done something wrong when discovering that the society lies and has been lying to us our entire time in 'the truth'. Why feel afraid or guilty at this realisation and discovery? You have committed no crime. It's not our fault... it's not us who taught and printed this stuff. It's the sole fault and responsibility of their own leaders.
  
  Nothing can be pinned on you for their own errors. Stand up and be honest. Stand up for the real truth.

  Remember you lived 37 years as a 'nutter' yourself. I lived only one.

  PS: It was not my intention to derail this thread.. I was just presenting an alternate viewpoint on Mr Gates. It is after all a duscussion forum.

  i went to the meeting last night, (with the start of a beard) and going throught he book study i had a thought.

  god our "heavenly father" wants us to have a personal relationship with him because he is love.

  well my brain disconnected from this thinking because if the bible was "written primarily for the anointed" and the benefits in the bible can only be mine because of "association" with the anointed, then i can never have a personal relationship with god or jesus.

  Speaking of Monsanto and their wonderful crops.. I wonder why China China rejected two shipments -- almost 546,000 tons -- of U.S. dried distillers' grain, a corn byproduct, because it contained genetically modified material when there is 'no evidence' that it does harm to humans? http://www.latimes.com/business/money/la-fi-mo-china-rejects-shipment-of-gmo-corn-20131227,0,2126813.story#ixzz2rGDSYDMK

  Guns and Martial Arts

  my wife's jw sister bought a gun after someone broke into her house and apparently no one in her circles has an issue with it.

  her only friends are jw's and she's posted about buying the gun and target practice a few times on facebook.. i remember reading in a '98 wt that witnesses do not buy guns, but i've read on here both that they are allowed to and that they're banned.. i also remember in the elder manual "pay attention to yourself and all the flock" that learning martial arts was frowned upon and disqualified jws from priveleges.

  my wife's olderst brother, also a jw has been actively learning martial arts since my wife was born without any sanctions or punishment.. could somebody fill me in on where the watchtower stands today on these positions?.

  At some point you might wanna sit back and think of the fact that there is no evidence that chemtrails exist.

  There is also 'no evidence' that the Kennedy assination was a conspiracy either. Or 9/11 or anything else for that matter.

  Cynical? No. Eyes open? Yes.

  Sorry I don't live in a soft fluffy pink bubble. Being wishfully and blindy 'positive' is living in a fantasy. The facts paint a very different picture indeed. The information is out there for anyone willing and able to do the research.
