i have been on here for only the past 3 days or so....so i don't really know how it goes.. this is an 'apostate' site right?.
so today i've learned that there is just the ol' regular apostate and an 'active' apostate.. but are there actually active witnesses on this site as well??.
because i just saw a topic about someone asking for advice on how to do a talk?.

There is a little bit of everyone here. There are those who are active but don't believe but due to family can't fade away. There are those who do fade away (quit going out in service, and attending meetings) they are called faders, there are disassociated and disfellowshipped people on here as well as people who were/are studying, or who have a relative in the truth but have never been a witness themselves. It is pretty much for anyone whose life has been affected by the Witnesses.
this has been an interesting week.
early in the week my wife started corresponding with one of her old friends.
he is no longer a witness and while i'm not sure what the catalyst was they started talking about why he left the witnesses.
Ahhh, so now I know where the "say hello to bobbi" thread originated. I was real confused there for a while.

this is long, sorry.
my 14 year old niece came to visit us this week.
she's being raised by her grandparents (ex-jws) and birth mother (ex-jw).
I may not be much help but here were some ideas I had. Keep her so busy she doesn't have time for a gang.
I know here they offer after school tutoring for students. I would sign her up for these classes and make the teacher call me immediately if she doesn't show. This will keep her away from the gangs for a few more hours per day and will help with her learning. You may also want to see if you have a sylvan learning center nearby. http://tutoring.sylvanlearning.com/
I would also encourage some other type of afterschool activity like cheerleading, softball, basketball, soccer, swimming at the Y, or anything else that can consume her time and get her intersted in something other than myspace and hanging with her friends. Kids that are involved in community programs are less likely to join a gang or get pregnant underage.

I don't guess I understand what their software does. Does it open up my comptuer to them? If so I am not sure I would want everyone there seeing everything on my computer. What does this software acomplish?
for the last two weeks my youngest boy joshua has been wearing a dress shirt, pants, and a sportscoat.
i've tried putting other clothes on him, like a t-shirt and shorts, but he always changes out of them for the dress shirt and pants.
it is so cute and he knows it.

For me it hit soooooo close to home I told my hubby I wasn't sure I wanted to watch it anymore. Having a mother that constantly competes with you is my mom to a T. And everytime Marjean said anything, she always made it about her. "Why do you do this to me?" Just like my mother. I found the episode excessively depressing, with the exception of Alby getting the crap beat out of him.
I feel so bad for Barb as well. She seems so lost. I think she may want OUT soon. Guess only time will tell.
