If and I mean IF the Adam and Eve story is correct poor old Adam didn't stand a chance, to start with him NEVER experienced any form of childhood. It is in childhood we learn and as we grow up we experience many things in life that make us who we are today.
Adam came to life as a fully grown man, young and dumb and.......
Eve, another fully grown person could not even reason with logic...
"heh..a talking SNAKE..wonder how many other animals talk in this garden?"
She may have been blonde.
If I ever come across a talking snake I'm gunna catch it and join a travelling circus and make some real money.

Pioneers, Prayers and Pills
by Wake Me Up Before You Jo-Ho inlooking back on my two decades as a jehovah’s witness, i’ve come to realize how the constant theme of endurance is playing a detrimental role on the individual's psyche.. jehovah’s witnesses have become far too good at keeping going.
they’re experts at surrendering to the demands of the watchtower, living up to what’s expected of them, and getting on with the priorities that those in power have defined and imposed upon them.
they keep showing up, presenting themselves a dutiful pioneer or ministerial servant.

For example, "I'm feeling very stressed from work," instead of "I can't keep up with my theocratic obligations." Or, "I'm just depressed," rather than "I'm furious with the way the brothers handled that." Or, "this movie is completely unacceptable - turn it off!" instead of, "I really want to see what happens in the end."
Hey, that sounded like me when I was in, a self-righteous prick.

Feeling social anxiety over being regular in field service? Take a pill.
Feeling stressed and anxious because pioneer life is hard? Take a pill.Juggling congregation duties, talks, meeting parts, judicial committees? Take a pill.
Exactly.
The cong. I was in just about everyone was taking something.
Never ask anyone "How are you?" They would rattle off their problems and what meds they were taking...boring.
Great post Wake Me right on the money

Shot off a TON of Fireworks for the 4th of July, did anybody else?
by Dunedain ini just finally settled down for the night, as its 1 a.m. in the morning, est, right now.
i finally cleaned up my yard a bit, and a few friends that were over have left.. anyway, i bought about $1,000 dollars worth of fireworks to shoot off for the 4th.
i had sooo much sh%t, i didnt think i was gonna shoot anywhere near as much as i did, but, between me and 2 buddies, we shot off like 85% of it.. literally for an hour and a half we were shooting non stop, sometimes 3 or 4 heavy mortars at once, without a break.

Do You Believe Hunger Strikes Truly Accomplish Anything?
by minimus ini see that stars are protesting something and to make a point, they go on a hunger strike.
prisoners sometimes are angry over their treatment and decide to stop eating.
some feel laws should be changed and make their point by refusing to eat.. do hunger strikes give you pause?

Born ins: did you have "near life experiences"?
by truthseeker ini recently watched the 90s movie fight club for the first time and heard the phrase "near life experience.".
for me, a different definition of this phrase would be someone who grew up in the truth and led a very secluded and restricted life (like me) but on rare occasions actually experienced something that was considered quite normal by most people.. growing up in "the troof" was depressing.
it was characterized by long periods of loneliness.

My earliest recollection of a real-life experience.
7 years old and for the first and only time I was allowed after school to go and play at my friend's home for 1 hour.
I played with his toy soldiers, WOW but as a typical ADD child I only stayed for half an hour.
When I got home mum says "what are you doing home early?"
Geez was I pissed off at myself.
