I hope that you all are able to get beyond this hate one day and enjoy a free life. These problems are not isolated to the WT. Look around, outside the WT. A radical islam belief is forcing the stoning of a young mother in africa because she had sex out of wedlock- and you thought jw's were radical. Maybe you did not watch the public beheadings in afganastan in the soccor fields. These peopel are not free to leave- jws are free to leave the WT. But no one here is defending oor fighting for the rights of these poor people. You are still controlled by the WT. You are consumed to the point that you cannot see the world outside the WT. Believe it or not there are millions of people suffering much worse than any jw all over the world. Not to belittle the WT plight. But the fight has to be more inclusive not exclusive. When I take note of the sufferings of so many it began to deminish the hate I had for the jws. I was able to expand my vision well beyond the GB.

I have up close and personal experience about the pediphile issue. My kissing cousin, born same month and same year as I - we were very close- was forced to give her jw MS servant dad oral sex several times until her mom caught them in the act. Her mom went to the elders. They scolded her dad and shunned my cousin. So traumatic it was for her that she died at 31. A great personal loss to me.
Still I do not hate. Still I think that the pediphile is the issue and laws must be put in place to force a change.
That is just one of many many stories I can give as I was a servant, pioneer, volunteer work at bethal and a 3rd generation jw.
But I do not expend my energies in the negative. I want positive reform. I am not interested in jw bashing or the like.

izo- you have gotten my point. Silent Lambs will be under the micoscope.
But I challange you once more! Why does it have to be "working against" the wt? What is wrong with a more positive "working for" the victims and "working for" reform?
As has been demonstrated by my criticisms of the silent lambs movement- negative attacks are not fruitful. It put the suppporters of the silent lambs on the defensive and darned near started a war here. The same is true with silent lambs. With a negative attack on the WT they will be defensive, naturally they will defend their postition. Nothing good is gained.
See what my posts produced from silent lambs supporters? Put the shoe on ther other foot. Silent Lambs is doing to the WT exactly what I was doing to silent lambs here. And you expect the WT to fold under because of your criticisms? No more than supporters of silent lambs will fold under to my criticisms.

The Next Big JW Issue?

i think it could be the extreme physical abuse of women and children.
with all that bill bowen is doing, i don't think that he should be the one to take this on.

Clearly the child abuse problem is long from being resolved. Abuse of women and children fall right in line with the issues at hand as far as I am concerned.

Examples of comments made by silent lambs supporters that they bash jws for using:
Dont question him.
Be patient.
Dont be negative.
Where else can you go- as imperfect as we are at least we are on the right road.
God will work things out.
They are working on it as we speak.
It will come to pass.
God is bigger than they are.
SOme of these are exact quotes others are paraphrased but they have all been used in throwing stones at any criticism about the movement.

I was a jw for over 34 years. My son made the adult decision to not be a jw without any negatism being forced on him by my part.
In fact I came from 3 generations of jw's. Few here have expereinced the pain and hurt that I have due to this org. But as I matured I realized that as long as I held such hate I was still controlled by them. I got beyond the jw's and feel much better for it. Having gotton beyond the experience I have been able to reach out to people of all sorts and maintain a balanced view of the world that I live in. I am glad that I did not raise my son with such hatred. For he to as an adult can look clearly at things and decide to stay clear of certain things- not because of hate- but because it is not for him. Now he can deal with all his fellow humans with love- even jws.
Yes, it is a wonderful feeling to live without hate and anger. It is very pleasant to speak my mind without fear of what others mught say or think. No longer having the fear of man. No longer having a cult leader so to speak.
I am sorry that others live in hate and anger. I am also sorry for those who would make assuptions as to me or my son.
