  simply stated mr bowen should leave some of his judgements and thoughts to be shared with only his wife and very close friends.

  given the spotlight that he has put himself in he is doing a lot of damage to his reputation and credibility.

  my heart goes out, not to mr bowen- he took this road by choice- but to the abuse victims that he claims to offer aid and support to.

  Lilacs- maybe you do not understand the word "attributed". I hae no way of knowing what Mr Franz said. In each of my post in regards to this issue I have made that point.

  Though I can personally say that Mr Bowen has and does bash others who do not agree with him, I also know that silent lamb supporters seemingly cannot stand criticism of their leader. That is why I do my utmost to NOW word my post very tactfully and still provide a bit of my thought in them.

  As to Mr Bowens apology- that does not interest me. Certain things that he stated to me in conversations were not statements from a "kind" "caring" "sympathetic" person. But rather than having an apology I would have that silent lambs gets about its business of ading abuse victims and reserve their personl opinions of some who are not on Bill's bandwagon to bed room talk. Mr Bowen has brought all this criticism into the public arena through his own conduct. He has put himself in the spotlight- brought serious accusations toward others and spoken harsh words to many here. Due to the postition HE has put HIMSELF in HE must out of position as an aid to abuse victims bridle his tounge or be forced to loose his credibilty. Better to have these criticisms brought from fellow ex-jw's who support the silent lambs cause than to be brought by the WT- who we should be certain is taking careful note of all the actions of Mr Bowen.

They are the ones who will be most hurt by all the negatism around silent lambs due to some of the public statements and letters atributed to Mr Bowen. They are the ones that this cause is suppose to be centered around-

  In all due respect to Mr Bowen- maybe he needs a good PR person. Hey Bush has to have one- left untethered Bush's mouth could really ruin his credibility. (i.e. **** is a major league ass hole)

  Island woman I guess that you are not allowed to stand up for someone you repsect and admire or have your own personality- unless you are standing in defense of Mr Bowen...

  i talked at length with ray franz this afternoon regarding the following comments by bill bowen: ray franz supports the wt policy on child abuse.

  he is the author of the two eye witness rule as well as the slander issue that prevents anyone from warning another of child abuse in the congregation.

  it is interesting that wt is willing to fight to the last man standing for a policy that in large part was founded by their biggest apostate.

  Hampton- I outlined why I put credibility in the post crediting Mr Franz for the comments. I also stated that I had no way of verifying the validity of the comments atributed to Mr Franz- You accusation of me putting words in Mr Franzes mouth takes a "question" I asked (not a statement) out of context- much like the jw's do often. I also was kind enough to call it a missquote rather than a lie as others have inferred.

  Mr Bowen effectely quit the WT 13 months prior to being df'd. The problem is Mr Bowen is still a jw at heart. He believes in a religion that he does not believe in- no wonder he is confused.

  Hampton- for clarifacation this post was not in any way connected to a response to your post- it was an added thought that had nothing to do with your post.

  Hampton- I just reread my response. I still did not see where I "put words" in Mr Franzes' mouth. Could you please clarify for my so that I can correct my post. It was not my intent to put words in anyones mouth.

  I only was saying that Mr Franz has conducted himself as a gentlman throughout his ordeal. Even after having to start his life over at a retirement age. I respect him for the way he has conducted himself. In my opinion he had a lot more of a personal reason to be pissed off at the WT than Mr Bowen, who still has his home and his job. Mr Bowne freely took on his mission- Mr Franz was forced at an older age to re-start his life- but he has still held his dignity.

  Where are the words I put in the mouth of Mr Franz??

  I have always had the greatest repsect for Mr Franz. He has conducted himself as a true gentleman throughout. Many have wondered why Mr Franz had not been involved or outspoken in regards to Silent Lambs and the pediphile issue. From the posted comments atrubuted to Mr Franz I will still say it is because Mr Franz is a reasonable and stable man- one who is not on a personal vendetta. His books have done much to expose the WT, however in each case the case was presented in a gentleman's way.

  From all that I can find Mr Bowen has only one mission: To destroy or get back at the WT. Blacken their already darkened eyes. Not knowing and having no way to validate the remarks credited to MR Franz I can only make a judgement call based upon what I have personally seen and heard from Mr Bowen and his attitude and comments to those who do not agree with him. Based on those things I believe it plausable that Mr Bowen could have incorrectly quoted Mr Franz.

  As I asked in earlier posts: "Besides marches and court cases what aid has Silent Lambs offered or given to abuse victims?" Why, after this length of time, does Mr Bowen, whose only know credential is having been an elder, take the sole responsibility in answering and responding to callers seeking aid? Where are the professionals that he continually bashes the WT for not havin or offering?

  Is this an anti-jw campaign in honesty? Was Mr Franz miss-quoted because Mr Franz saw through Mr Bowens true motivation and refused to offer support to silent lambs?
