Life is for the living. I have put the word out- burn my remains, NO memorial service and get on with your life- Life is too short to waste it on the dead. The best thing that my sister did for me and my mother was request cremation. How much better that was. Praise me while I am alive. Remember me while I am here. Send me flowers while I can enjoy them. And give me a ride in a long black luxuery car while I can enjoy it sitting up and sipping a glass of wine. IMHO we give more respect to the dead than we do the living- What a waste!

Your funeral arrangements?
by eyeslice inthough hopefully i am not planning on dying at the moment, but time and unforeseen circumstances can catch up with us all.. previously, i had an elder who is a gentle and kind person lined up to handle my memorial should the need arise.. however, now that i am no longer fully in as it were, i not sure what instructions i should give to my family should the worst arise.
i can hardly says what i really want is an anglican service or contact the local buddhists.. anyone else thought about this and come to any conclusions?

Does god really love children?
by kelsey007 inmany people claim that the god of the bible loves children and fetuses.
but what does the bible say?
according to god's law, children are not persons but the property of their fathers, who may sell them as slaves.

Many people claim that the God of the Bible loves children and fetuses. But what does the Bible say?
Kill both man and woman, infant and suckling... (1 Samuel 15:3)
Their infants will be dashed in pieces before their eyes... (Isaiah 13:6)
Happy is he that dashes your little ones against the stones. (Psalms 137:9)

How to gain eternal life....
by kelsey007 in" note that he did not ask whether he had to believe anything to have eternal life; he asked what he must do.
jesus then asked him if he had kept the commandments.
the young man said, "i have kept them all; what do i still lack?

A young man came to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?" Note that he did not ask whether he had to believe anything to have eternal life; he asked what he must do.
Jesus then asked him if he had kept the commandments. The young man said, "I have kept them all; what do I still lack?" Then Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come and follow me." (Matthew 19:16-21)
Note again that Jesus didn't ask him to believe anything; he just told him what he must do in order to have eternal life.
How many people do you know who are headed for heaven?
Saved??
- 1. Salvation By Good Works
- "What good deed must I do to get eternal life?" a young man asks Jesus. Even though he had kept the commandments all his life, Jesus tells him: "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell all your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven." (Matthew 19:16-21; Luke 18:18-22)
- 2. Salvation By God's Grace
- "No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me; and I well raise that person up on the last day." (John 6:44). "...no one can come to me unless it is granted by the Father." (John 6:55). "So it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God who shows mercy. So then he has mercy on whomever he chooses, and he hardens the heart of whomever he chooses." (Romans 9:16, 18).
- 3. Salvation By Faith
- "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They answered, "Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and you and your household." (Acts 16:30-31). Jesus says, "Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life." (John 6:47). "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life." (John 3:16).
- 4. Salvation By Predestination
- "...all who were destined for eternal life became believers." (Acts 13:48). "And he will send out his angels, ...and they will gather his elect... (Matthew 24:31). "...he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love. He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will." (Ephesians 1:4-5).
You may be saved by doing good works, by holding the correct belief, or by hoping that God may have mercy upon you.
But if God has predestined you for either heaven or hell. there is nothing you can do about it. So just relax and enjoy yourself - if you can.

Some Advice Please
by QCA1 inthe other day i was on the computer and i moved some files on jws into documents as i was in a hurry, didn't think anymore of it.. my grandsons came over who are jws and joined my son on the computer,my son went into documents and my grandsons saw the files and asked him why i had them, of course my son didn't know quite what to say and he didn't tell me until after they had gone home.
i am worried that they may tell their mum and dad what they saw.
if my son asks me why i have these files what should i say because i need to be careful.my family is everything to me especially my grandchildren.. qca1

If your family is so important to you and your son is also then honesty is the only way to go. A simple "Those files are personal and are of only concern to me at this point. If I find anything in the information I am reading that I feel you should know about I will gladly share them with you at that point". Someone here I am sure can share with you how to keep certain files password protected- essential if you are sharing your computor...

Oh lord Jehovah God Almighty. Please give me the strength to overcome the urge to buy presents for my loved ones. Please aid me in ovecoming my admiration of the lovely lights (er- pagan lights) that decorate my neighbors houses. Please give me the strength to not look with envy at the festive gatherings of the worldly pagans that seemingly enjoy this season. Jehovah, Please forgive me for having the least bit of envy for the fun that all others are having and give me the courage and strength to knock on doors on x-mas morning and disrespect (er warn) others of the shortness of this wicked old system. Being a mere human I know that it will be only through the fear of man (er of god) that I will be able to stand strong in my ingnorance (er new light) of the evils of this holiday, festive (er wicked paganistic) season. Amen.
