  okay, so i got annoyed yesterday when someone told me i looked like debra winger.

  i find her most unfeminine and unattractive.

  but it doesn't piss me off half as much as when i'm told i look like liza minelli.

  logan's appointment as chicago district overbeer was very encouraging (congrats logan!!

  i feel the appreciation of fine, cheap wine among our fellow apostates is sorely lacking, therefore i would like to reach out for the fine previlage of regular wine-eer.

  Personality quirks that make you mad!

  i'm not keeping this to jws only, but i remember one that used to make me want to punch him just because of the way he acted.. he'd come up to me, and he'd have one hand put halfway in his suit jacket, and he'd make a *click* sound with his tongue inbetween sentences.

  that really drove me up the wall!.

  anyone else know a person who would just drive you nuts because of the way he/she acted?

  Oh yeah! This chubby MS in our cong would always always breath through his mouth. I used to hate hearing him commment because he sounded like Elmer Fudd and you could here him breath loudly in the mic in between sentences.

  were any specifically mentioned from the platform or were you counseled not to listen to a certain song?

  for me it was the entire def leopard hysteria album - bad heavy metal told it was demonic, i listened to it in secret, silk's "freak me" - a virgin listening to a song about hot sex?

  What TV shows were you told not to watch as a JW ???

  it got me thinking, about tv shows, anything in particular you were told not to watch, being a little kid in the 70's i do remember hearing shows from the platform that we should not watch.

  I was able to watch Scooby Doo only because I explained to my mom the phantoms and ghosts werent real

  Threes Company was DEFINATELY a no no (but i would sneak and watch it)

  I would also sneak and watch Transformers, She-Ra, He-man and ThunderCATs (rooooooar!!)

  I couldnt watch Rosanne or Married with Children, and im with you Dr Watson I couldnt watch the Simpsons with my parents around either. Doh!

  so the only thing that was left (oh yeah most of the good shows were on meeting nights arrrrgh!) was TGIF-Perfect Strangers, Full House and Family Matters

  some of the other JW parents were more lienient (sp) than mine so sometimes i could go to my friends house and watch some those shows

  Anyone remember GoBots? They were the rival of Transformers (lol)

  oh but i did get to watch a lot of the "Classics" ie. the Jeffersons, Sanford and Son and Good Times oh and who can forget the show FAME?
