  i really shouldn't be starting any new threads and almost put this one as a reply in the 1928 pdf messenger thread, but it is just too juicy to get buried right away.. i suggest that anyone even halfway interested in jw history download that 1928 messenger pdf.

  it is full of treasures.

  here is one i found on page 7 of the newsletter (page 25 of the pdf file).

  yes we saved and loaned and skrimped to build our own hall as we share with 6 other congs amd our area keeps growing bigger.

  we even picked out the land....nice, perfect for a hall.

  we had 147,000 so....then the advice comes from "above" that bethel advised us not to build since the bookstudy is cancelled our hall can take one more cong????

  Evolution of Religion

  the evolution of religionif you buy the notion that religion is a set of beliefs, then you have to wonder how and why religion came to be, especially given the variety of religions that don't share the same beliefs.

  but getting at a theory of religion is no easy task.. .

  one idea is that religion is related to evolution, in that belief confers some survival advantage.

  Interesting topic. I have thought about this before and agree with the ideas presented in the article. I wonder if this simulator can predict when religion will go extinct.
