I'm "pist" at the organization. Does that count?

Kaytee & Twink's "Resignation" letter
by twinkletoes inthis was the second letter given to elders that turned out to be a "resignation" letter.
this was, as you will see, because they chose not to answer any of our questions.
the reason we are posting our letter, is because it is now obvious (by personal experiences) that ones who we thought were our friends are now choosing to shun us.

Wow, very good letter. Unfortunately it doesn't surprise me in the least that you didn't get a reply, or that they simply DA'd you for it.
I wonder if anyone has ever gotten an honest, try-to-answer-your-questions letter in reply.

Did you always turn in *all* your donation money?
by asleif_dufansdottir ini went out in service for the first time at about the same time the "donation arrangement" was put into effect.
i heard one or two brothers (when they were in 'safe' company) thinking out loud that if the money was really for the "world wide work"...that maybe it would be ok to use some of it, sometimes, to put gas in the car to go out in service (our congregation had some really poor people and our rurals covered 4 or 5 counties and hundreds of square miles).. i was wondering if anyone actually did that?
i wonder if pioneers who were used to getting a price break kept keeping a percentage??

Am I going straight to hell?
LOL! No, there will be a special reward for you. Helping to undermine the WTS is the most noble thing a person can do.

I never once asked for donations when they switched to the donation arrangement. It just felt too much like begging. Besides, if God was really behind the org, he wouldn't let it go broke.

Can one be ignorant yet somewhat intelligent at the same time?
Of course! The more you learn, the more you realize there are things you're ignorant of. As a dub I used to think I knew almost everything about evolution. Boy was I wrong. The 1985 Creation book is a complete joke and doesn't teach you about evolution... not even close. I know much more about it now, but feel like I know only a tiny fraction of the whole. Intelligence is the ability to learn/understand new things. Ignorance is just not having learned those things yet.

If Your JW Relative Needed Blood, Would You Force It On Them?
by minimus indue to the fact that most of us do not feel that it is scripturally wrong to take blood, if your relative was told that they needed a transfusion and you could see that they get it, even if it's against their wishes, would you force blood into them??
?

If a JW relative was in the hospital, unconscious, and needed blood, I would definitely approve it. Everyone is entitled to make their own decisions, but the blood issue is based on a stupid command by an idiotic organization that misinterprets a few scriptures from some ancient, man-written book. (IMO :-)
I would not let a relative die for this. I couldn't live with myself. I would rather them be upset at me than throw away their life.

JW's and Mormons (**again!**)
by figureheaduk ina few days back i started a thread called "jw's and mormons", which seemed to get a few replies.
however, whenever i tried to open the thread i kept getting one of those horrible "error" screens that seemed to have been plaguing the forum recently.
now it seems as if the thread has gone for good.. the original questions i asked were along the lines of.

Did you cheat on your monthly report?
by JH ini was always honest with my field service reports, until the time when an elder came over to give me hell because i had only 1 hour that month in the field service.
i told him that i was working 50 hours a week, had a 4 day district convention that month and couldn't do miracles that month.
he never accepted my explanation.. .

I guess I was a sucker... I never lied on my service report. I just got the third degree every now and then. My average was probably 4 hours per month.
Please don't be too disappointed in me about not cheating! If it helps, for the last 9 - 12 months I was in the borg I didn't actually talk at the doors. I counted 4 hours per month and I just followed someone else around.
Ah, the joys of giving a token sacrifice.
