if you want to know..... if you remeber when i had it a little rough a few weeks ago considering my son,who is disabled with autism.well things are better.i decided to quit my job and stay at home with him.i have now controlled most of his behavior but i still have a hard time with keeping him clothed.i looked into many places but they just can't offer me anything,for him with out the money...i realized my son basically just has me and i'm going to be there for him.. working and having a full time job at home was too much for me and i'm not ashamed to say that too.

well he can still stress me out but we are both happier people.he has changed much,now that he has his mommy at home..

Brummie, I don't blame you for being skeptical. I had always thought autism was permanent and there wasn't much you could do about it. Watching the documentary of the Kaufman's was incredible.

I apologize if I came across wrong. My wife has MS and we hate hearing about all of these supposed "cures" from people who mean well. I hope the information I was able to provide will be of some benefit. I regret using the word "cure"...

My wife should be joining these forums soon; if you guys are interested she would be very happy to discuss her experiences with the SonRise program and the autistic boy she is helping. It is heart-warming.

When my wife started this program, we watched a documentary on the creators and the success they had with their son. Simply amazing. They have been able to help many, many others with this program.

BTW, it's called the SonRise program, not Sonshine.

Sorry, perhaps I should have said "eliminates all symptoms/indications of autism." The inventors of the Sonshine program "cured" their severely autistic boy. He now seems completely normal, graduated college, got married, etc.

Have you heard of the Sonshine program? My wife helps a friend with her autistic child. They are following the Sonshine program and the boy has made tremendous progress in only one year.

It's not guaranteed to work, but it can potentially cure autism (and has in many cases).

the wts always talks about how wrong it was for the pharisees to make an endless number of rules.

but the wts is guilty of the same thing.

you can't have a beard... you can't watch rated r movies... you must report your field service activity... you cannot go to costume parties... you can have some blood fractions but not whole blood... you can't read any stuff that is against our opinion... yadda yadda yadda.. my mom (an active jw) argues that theses are not rules but only guidelines.

Thanks for all the comments. I agree that, while most Witnesses will simply call the rules "guidelines", they really are in fact rules and most fellow JWs will really look down on you if you break a "guideline."

I watched rated R movies as a Witness but I would never advertise it. Heck, some JWs would get offended if you watched PG13 movies.

When someone is critical of JWs numerous rules, the JWs will say they are simply guidelines. But inside the org, they are perceived as rules.

Maybe people would be more willing to look at the creationist side if it didn't require belief in a God that by definition cannot be proven, or strict adherence to a book written by man.

The problem I have with creation is that it doesn't follow science. The conclusion is fixed (that God/whatever created everything). Facts that would not lead to this conclusion are discredited.

Science works in the opposite fashion. Evidence is gathered and a theory is formed that fits all available evidence. When new evidence is found that does not fit the current theory, the theory is adjusted so that it makes sense when considering all evidence. If the theory cannot be adjusted to fit all evidence, it is thrown out and a new theory is developed.

Now read the other side please!

You are stating/implying that I have not looked at the other side. Nothing is farther from the truth. Before I left the organization, I tried fervently to discredit evolution. I looked at all sorts of pro-creation web sites (Answers in Genesis comes to mind). But as you are advocating now, I did not want to look at only one side. I also looked at TalkOrigins and other pro-evolution sites.

I'm sorry if you don't like my conclusion, but after weighing the evidence on both sides, evolution made much more sense. It took me a long time to come to that conclusion, and at life-changing consequences. It would have been easier for me to stay where I was... in the org, not rejected by my family, and believing in God/creation.
